Does anyone know if there is an SL tourism board to tell you the great places to visit in SL?
if not does anyone think this may be useful to lead tours for newbies or long time residents. i think SL has so many fun places to visit that don't have to do w clubs, casinos or strip clubs. Do you think this useful to offer SL residents?

I think it would be a good idea that someone needs to go for if no one else has! I personally wish that vehicles worked better in SL so you could take a tour blimp or aircraft with a bunch of people and do the "and to your right is the IBM office in SL...and to your left is a giant glowing penis building..." routine!

The key would be clever advertising that would let new people know that you exist. They generally don't know how to find stuff like that when they're just figuring out how to make everything work for the first time.

I know I would have gone on one when I was new if I had known about it. Instead I just walked from one corner to the other. This was back when SL was much smaller, though!

Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to hop in the Heuy and fly across the grid unencumbered. This is a great idea fo an entrepeneur, with the searcgh function being so limited and the ridiculous Popular Places category. If someone took the time to go all over and catalogue and review all the sims, and then put together pacages based on interests , they may have a nice business opportunity.

my idea is to provide a friendly place to learn about the fun places in SL there are so many jewels you cannot find in popular places. Kinda like tour brochures for residents that want more out of their SL experience.

Perhaps not exactly what you're looking for, but Natalia Zelmanov's Diary is fun to read.

Yeah...there was a discussion about that a few months ago...basically like a Zagat rating for sims/businesses/locations of interest. It would also help those being reviewed if this group/company became reputable with their rating system. People would wear that like a badge!

I'd totally do that if I didn't already have so much on my plate in SL!

There is the SL Parks & Rec listing:

Another great way to find interesting places to visit is scanning pictures posted on Snapzilla:
