![]() That's the feeling I get when I'm working along on my PC, and suddenly the tower goes "click" and the HD noise stops. I have this feeling that the lines for the LL bathrooms will be long tonight. _____________________

Art Bell is on Coast To Coast AM tonight.
This logoff did put an interesting thought in my head. This is merely a conciousness-expanding excercise, not designed to generate panic. What *IF* the entirety of Sl was wiped out. if all the inventories, and all the prims everywhere, and all the freebies and buildings and scripted objects.. all the "Magic Boxes" and vendors... All the digital pets, and prim babies, animations, aos... all of it... was gone. What if we did have to just start from scratch? Those with the foresiight to save off their scripts, and keep backups of their textures and animation files, sounds, etc... would have an advantage... as would those whoe products are relatively easy to recreate. How many scripters save off their scripts into notepad files on their computers? How many animators and texture artists back up their work on their PC's? This isn't some huge call for a massive change to SL, building in a way to download our creations... but if we did, one day, have to start over from "The Endless Green Plain".. How many of us "Content Creators" would be ready to get the job started? I'm hoping we DON'T have to experience this situation.. but it's definitely drawn my attention to the need for backups. Assuming SL comes up fine again, I personally will be making some backups of scripts and such. _____________________

yikes I was shopping, I dropped a box to the ground, it wasnt appearing to let me open it, the box was no copy and I couldnt find it where I dropped it, so I panicked. I relog but it wont let me back in, it gives me that "your account wont be availiable until <> time" message, and when that time comes i try and it gives me that same message with a alter time! So I give up and log into my other account, figuring I can chat for a few minuted until I see him dissapear.
So I chat and chat hoping I didnt lose the stuff I bought, I get impatient, I tp to the room where my alt was shopping. I still cant see the box I dropped, im panicking more because I think I lost it for good. I am standing in the room with my other self, feeling like ive seen a ghost because its so weird to be in the room with my alt. Then that message comes up about hardware failing and I freak out. Worst time to go shopping ever I hope I didnt lose that stupid thing, at least both my avs are in the room on the lookout for it. |

If you can't find it after the grid opens again, contact the creator, most are willing to provide replacements for when this exact sort of thing happens. _____________________
