Tell your friends to stop bothering you or drop them from your list. Sounds harsh at first, but true friends understand the need for some "me time". ~Jessy

If you own an island sim, and its not visiable to the mainland (hidden sim) , if you log into that sim, you are invisable to people.. jsut learned this one last week

I have an invisible/private sim which I rent out land on. Whilst people are on this sim, they are invisible (show as offline, and not mappable) to everyone else in SL, except for Lindens and other people with access to this hidden island.
It's sorta a privacy island... however, it's not for newbies - it's aimed at established SL residents who get deluged with IMs when they signon and want some peace.

I agree with what already said earlier. A friendlist is for friends... not for people who bugger you all the and have no understanding that you also may need time alone or with others.
If they don't understand that, send them a IM and delete them from your friendlist if continue to bug you.
