Returning Locked Object

To make a long story short, we've wound up with a locked object on our land that we want to return to the object owner (who has group rights on the land) - assume the object owner is unavailable but I know someone who has been given edit rights by the object owner.

How can we return the object to the owner? Step-by-step instructions would be appreciated - assume I know nothing, which is sadly not too far from the truth.

huh, I thought locked objects just give a warning message but you can still return them normally. That doesn't work?

That's what I thought, too. But I get a message saying it can't be returned. Kind of frustrating.

Then get the person with Edit rights to select the object, then unlock the object, then return it.

Hmm...I just had a friend create two objects, one with our group, one with some other group. Both were set as no transfer, and both were locked by the creator. Both were able to be returned no problem.

you have to click "more" in the pie to get the return option...

What are the permissions?

Here's an odd thought... maybe you could subdivide the land under the object, change the group of the land to a different group of yours, or just to yourself or another trusted person with 16m of land in thier tier, and have the new plot autoreturn it. I'm really sleepy but I think this might work.
