Wow bad time for your first post. These forums are scheduled for demolition any time within the next 24 hours.
Try clearing your cache. Go to an empty sim and pull up your inventory. Wait for everything to reload. You can tell when the numbers in the title bar quite moving. Then check for the missing items.
Sometimes that works.

It's unlikely you've lost anything, but sometimes you need to clear cache and log into a quiet sim, then let the inventory load for a few minutes before doing a few searches to prod it a bit.
Occasionally you need to do it more than once.
Mohrr is a quiet sim.

Yes, I have lost a top level folder in my inventory that contains all the buildings I have purchased or built over the last 3 years (I am a landlord) - this amounts to between 100 and 130,000's worth of Lindens. I have tried the going to an empty sim, clearing cache, talking to concierge and even filing a support ticket (3 days ago now) - all with no luck. Hoping that the missing items will turn up, one of them was a unique one-off build that can not be recovered from the builder (he sold me the only copy)

If you haven't already done so, open a support ticket. I think the heading is "missing inventory", and I think this ticket type is open to non-premium members too.

From: Pete Olihenge If you haven't already done so, open a support ticket. I think the heading is "missing inventory", and I think this ticket type is open to non-premium members too. Pete, If your response was to me I talked to concierge for a total of just under 4 hours on Saturday about it (owning a chunk of land does have some benefits) and also filed a report ticket on the same day. I see on the support page that concierge customers are supposed to get quicker responses - it's been 3 days now and no answer - I am getting to the stage where I might have to go back to the creators of some of the shops and plead with them for copies (not all of the missing ones are out on my areas so I can't take copies of them), the only problem is that at least one of them has left SL so I can't get that and the other big item was a one-off that I picked up about 2 weeks ago while I was redeveloping an area. I guess it's off to MVC etc to see if they can help me

I have never posted before but I HAVE had this problem and I CAN help. It's an easy fix actually. Simply download another viewer for SL and log in. Dont do ANYTHING but open the inventory window and let it load. Then log out. Go back to your regular SL viewer and chances are your invent will be back to normal.

The reason that worked, Chrystal, is because the viewer is probably starting a new cache folder. You can achieve the same thing by manually deleting the contents of your current cache folder. For the regular SL viewer it would be located at C:\Documents and Settings\[your pc logon]\Application Data\SecondLife\browser_profile\Cache. If you delete everything in that folder, for some reason that works a lot better than the browser's "Clear cache" function.
