Cannot rez object, object missing from database

Anyone else got that message trying to rez an object from inventory? A large part of my inventory is doing this. Lindens are no help. It's been going on for 3 months. More and more of my stuff cannot be rezzed. I see them in the inventory listing, but dragging them to the ground just bring this message.

Even a whole building project of mine won't rez anymore. I have reported this many times and got only two irrelevant answers from LL pointing me to "how to find stuff in your inventory blah blah blah..."

I can find my stuff in the inventory, that's not the problem. The stuff will not rez. Simple to understand if you read the reports.

Pissed off as hell...

I get the same thing, also with gestures. I have several gestures that when I log in it automatically says "Cannot load Gesture, missing from database."

Not exactly sure why it's missing.

This is perhaps one of the top three issues in SL right now. Check my sig for the link to the Second Life bug reporting tool JIRA, and vote for SVC-114. It is imperative that you login and vote for this if you are serious about being concerned.

Beyond that, if the often tried but seldom successful "clearing of your cache then re-logging" does not restore your things, you are going to have to ask the original creators if they would be so kind as to replace the items.

I agree, this is a deal breaker kind of bug (or set of related bugs most likely). The asset server has been FUBAR for about 6 months now. It's outrageous that they have not solved how to keep their database from failing so often.

I get the same thing when I log in...annoying at best.

I used ta love makin custom Gestures too...was a hobby, & brought some extra "life" ta my av...annoyin as hell.

Gestures rock. I love them. At least, from a WA frequenter, they are a total blast. I even get into gesture conversations with my friend Blaine... But nothing is more annoying than having something you use just vanish on you for no reason that you can explain, be it gesture, attachement, or something else you own.

Not one person has added their vote to jira since this thread has gone up. I really wish people would spend 5% of the energy that they are using to complain about bots or age verification and spend it on complaining about inventory loss.

Inventory loss is slowly destroying the consumer confidence in SL. Think about it, if there was a 2% chance that the item you bought at Best Buy would disappear on the ride home and it happened to you, you wouldn't shop at Best Buy ever again. The only thing that compares to how frustrating and disappointing inventory loss can be is when someone screws up a land sale and loses a piece of land to a swooper.

And the worst part is, you can take as many precautions as you want and still be the victim of inventory loss.

Same for me and the folders in my inventory are all over the place. I couldnt find my dog, so go and buy another one and Arthur reappears lol.

I also cannot download a texture on my new, class 5 sim land but the ugly rotating ads are still working behind me

I'm guessing that those other people aren't having problems with inventory loss. Really, it sounds to me like only a very small percentage of people have experienced this, while bots and age verification affect everyone. That's probably why there aren't more votes for it so far.

For those of you having problems logging into JIRA - you have to log in from the main JIRA page, not from the page the issue is on, in order for it to 'register' that you are logged in. So go to the main JIRA page first, and then after you're logged in, go to the issue. Oh and use IE - I've had problems making it work with Firefox.

Same goes for me.

Jira is fidgety when it comes to logging in. You have to login, then sometimes hit the login button again and then finally go to the proposal you want to vote for.

Oh and I know it only directly affects a small percentage, but it slowly hurts everyone by undermining confidence in SL and driving people away.

I had trouble logging in today too, just clear your browser cache and try again...always works for me. i also voted.

Edit: AND I'm using Firefox. Still works.

Database Error: Cannot Rez JIRA

Thanks everyone. Just got back from weekend trip. I have voted on the JIRA site.

Thing is some of the thing that won't rez are old, stuff I have bought 2 years ago and the creator is not even around anymore, so it's impossible to get new one.

LL disappoints again, after this new revision, all the stuff that did not rez from inventory, giving the "object is missing from database" message, still won't rez.

I consider these things lost for good, as LL is not replying to my many bug reports and emails to support.

there s quite a lot of money spent in those items, some are expensive dragon AV and such, but most disappointing are several building that I was keeping in inventory that just won't rez anymore.

I have lost stuff before by my own mistake, hell I once returned all my objects on my land by mistake when I was a noob.

But this is LL's fault, not mine. Their system caused this. They should fix it. They are not.

I may have some cheap land for sale soon.

And what's up with the signature??? another bug? get real!

Just noticed your post....I have been having the same problem for a couple of days, and wondered if you had had any luck with your inventory status. I am ready to leave SL. I am sooooooo frustrated!! I have lost a lot of my inventory.....houses, furniture, etc. I cannot rez anything. I went out to buy new stuff to replace it, and cannot rez the new stuff at all!!! I am in the middle of building on a lot to rent out...but everything is at a standstill, because I cannot rez anything from my inventory.....please send along any suggestions if you have any...please and thankyou!!

no luck! Started selling land. All major creation suspended indefenitely. Got a support ticket opened and received an answer from LL finally. The stuff that won't rez will never return. Thanks for nothing LL. This sucks big time. let it be a warning to all. Stuff won't rez, gesture get lost, prims go phantom... but LL gives us voice and tweakable skies!!! yeah, right!
