Rolling Update - Completed

Friday, March 16th, 2007 at 7:46 PM PST by: Char

I've confirmed that my Black Bart Bucking Bull Ride and my Iti Motu 18 Hole Full Scale Golf Game are no longer usable since the upgrade.

Black Bart sells for 2,000L and Iti Motu Golf sells is a custom design that sells for far more (I think it's $3,000USD).

What other scripts have failed since the update?

Apparently this is related to llSetRot() only working sporadically?

I saw you earlier today in the morris sandbox on the beta grid.

I was trying to help somebody disable particles in their skirt via llParticleSystem([]);. But the damn thing wouldn't work. I know that there were already some issues with disabling particles. But it seems even worse now.

My dance Foo is dead also. Creator said that's between me and Linden Lab.

Not the first time LL has broken perfectly good scripts/objects in an 'update'... not the last either. Ask Starax about it... o, wait you can't, he got so fed up with trying to create things that LL broke with thier 'updates' he left.
I'm pretty sure if you look in the TOS it says "tough titties" in regards to this happening.

Bug report it, post on the blog in the right space (if comments are open) and open a new public bug on Jira (though there may be already one or more on these issues). I know many, many folks are also now with non-working products so you're not alone obviously and the more people use the right avenues to report the issues, the faster they may attend to them.

Wow, lol, that's so ...optimistic. And its worked so well with the inventory issues/estate water problem/rotation scripts issues.

I even have a seperate folder in my inventory called "Broken Things" which ever now and then I pull stuff out of in hopes that maybe an unnoticed fix has them working again. It's a very full folder after 3 yrs.

The best you can hope for is someone smarter or more commited to SL then the people that work at LL to find a work-around for the things that LL breaks that it doesn't have the time/resources/incentive to bother fixing, especially if the problem can be fixed by estate owners reseting the scripts in thier entire sims. If you are not an estate owner, and sometimes even if you are, the response to most bug reports will direct you back to the 'tough titties' clause in the TOS.

quick note, in my case it's llLookAt not llSetRot

I'm working on a workaround.

Please contact me for building, animation and textures.
I'm no longer taking work as a scripter except on 100% prepaid buyer beware basis.

Pie, I just scanned the TOS and I can't find the word "titties" in it anywhere. Do you think they've changed it?

I was out shopping this morning and was startled by the sight of koi in a pond swmming so fast they looked like they were racing in the Indy 500. Had to be a new script error.

Note to self: check swimming turtle in back yard...

No, Suzi, they didn't actually change it, they just sent out notecards to certain individuals who used the word 'titties' or showed pictures of titties in thier advertising.

Actually, it's a pretty old script error.

Dammit, the script error I reported before and which was fixed in the rolling restarts is happening again:
/327/dc/171475/1.html

llSetScriptState is bugged.

Oh dear I'm having that titanic nightmare again!!! PANIC!!! TERROR!!!

After going through that whole deal with WarpPos breaking the other day, i helped to make sure the other day's rolling update fixed it... The very next day we have more rolling updates. I was told that once again it's broke? I sure hope not... LL please undo anything you've done in the last few days and return it back how it was before you broke anything...

My friend just explained to me, LL rolled back the fix because sims were crashing. In other words, while fixing some bugs they caused others.

And thus, in two short sentences, Johan has summarized the entirety of every update... EVER!!

My hat is off to you Johan.

But it seems even the rollbacks didn't take for every sim. Still getting crashes.
