if your male or male avatar, what type of clothing are you interested in buying/would like to see?

I don't want to see blue polo shirts and beaters. I want to see stylish suits and tie, nice sports attire, shoes with a lot of detail in the texture, leather wear and pants, which don't look like they are still phoning home to the 70ies :) Oh, and belts :D

^ What he said.

Take a trip to The Made Man to see the type of stuff I'm interested in. I shop almost exclusively at that store when it comes to clothing. I'd love to see more stuff like that available.

The Made Man.

Thanks, will check them out. I've been wearing the same two outfits for six months. I don't want to shop for clothing. I want to pop in and buy it and be done.

Nice casual clothing. Silk shirts & suits, casual dress pants, etc. That stuff is hard to find. Best place I seen was Frangipani D., but its a very small men section.

How about things that would come from Sharper Image, GQ, International Male and such.
It just seems like all the shopping is geared towards making women look good and well the men want to look good too.

Well that'll be a little tough at The Made Man - it's HUGE. They've got the best selection of suits and dress shoes I've found for men though. I'm gonna contact the store owner and start demanding money. I've sent him so much business I should be making commission. :p

It's a little pricey but well worth it. I always get compliments on my outfits from there.

Dolce and Gabanna.

And NO t-shirts. Oh, and make sure that your pants rise high enough and your shirts drop low enough that I'm not exposing my navel with everything I wear. :D

I'll pay the big bucks for good, fashionable (esp. Italian) men's clothing. (And for god's sake, no tie-dye. Why does everything have to be rainbow colored?)

Stylish shirts & sharp suits of a classic/timeless design.

They should be well drawn/textured/shaded with matching seams and realistic folds in the fabric. These are a few of the things that make me part with my L$.

Rubber catsuits!

...err well ok besides that...

Some styles arranged by period, instead of the new-uniform baggies -n- tshirt surfer/developer rubbish. Say for example, 1940's battledress, 1950's Zoot/Jazz suits, 1960's Brat Pack(MenInBlack, you youngsters) black suit and white tie. 1970's loon pants and tie-die and/or bondage tartans. 1980's double-breasted suits and mullet hairdo's... then the 90's gets us back to the surfer slob-a-rama.

Some Wall Street wear too - double-cuff shirts, red braces. Shooting Party/Gatsby plus-fours.

(just a short list of the things I CAN'T find in SL...)

The Gummster (who wears one thing and one thing only, so he's not really sure why he's answering...)

Now how about an Irving jacket; the sheepskin leather flying jacket with thick woolly lining?
Bike boots with not too many buckles - hell! we bikers dressed efficiently, not decoratively ;)
Denim waistcoat (very faded by all the miles riding under the sun!), oil-stained jeans? Oh, and woolly hats, cowboy hats? The default beanie is just wonderful for girls - how about one for us guys?

Yeah, I know, not the sort of stuff you'd think would look good in a shop but heck, some of us aren't bothered about letting on what we've been doing ;)

I would say not jeans and not T-Shirts. I hate going to a shop only to find 101 variations of jeans and 1001 variations of T-Shirts. Yes I know the other stuff is out there and yes in rl I am a lazy slob who likes wearing jeans and a t-shirt but even I have been known to wear something else sometimes.

Magic shoes. The ones that don't make my feet big enough to keep an elephant happy and don't keep getting stuck up my ass when I TP :)

This thread makes me think that the real answer is branding and market segmenation. Just as The Gap owns Banana Republic and Old Navy, SL stores should focus on particular market segments, and have different names and store styles, even if it's the same owner or designer. Even within casual clothing, stores like J. Crew and Eddie Bauer each bring to mind different styles, even though there can be some overlap.

If you try to do it all, you'll have so much stuff that people won't want to sift through it just to find the styles they want. If you're a designer, pick a style you're comfortable with, and work with that. I'd rather see a designer working on making both tucked and untucked versions of shirts than working on both t's and tuxedos. If you're doing formal, make the same shirt both buttoned for a tie and unbuttoned. And so on.

Keep up with the technology. Flex prims, transparency, smart accessories are all areas worth exploring.

Um, Sharper Image is a gadget store. So unless you're talking about clever watches, I'm not sure how they fit in.

I'm always casually dressed and love clothes that enhance a male's physique.

Sheepskin jacket.... go to MIA

Boots... i'll have to look at mine in world, got 'em too long ago to remember where. They ain't the oversized stompers that some folks who've never set their bum on a bike seem to think are are Biker Boots. These look like the same ones I bought at the Harley shop RL. The shape and size are natural for a foot and only a single buckle, and it ain't some laggy bling buckle. Also, they were modable so I could slip an AO into 'em so i could stop the default Linden drunken chicken walk. There also ain't any goofy spikes. No self-respecting biker wears spikes. EDIT: The boots are also from SF Designs.

oil-stained jeans... freebie from Viking Bikes. I know what you're thinking, most freebies are pure trash. This one ain't.

I second Beebo's recommendation for SF Designs & MIA, as well as the earlier recommendation for Made Man.

Made Man is the #1 Male shopping store, no competition. I think I own one of every outfit there.

Male clothing is a huge pain to find, but even harder to find, is QUALITY male clothing.
