Hi all,
I've searched the knowledge base and the forum for this question. I've seen other people have the problem but I've not seen a solution posted.
Here's my prob: I'm renting. I am the only one living on the parcel. Media Streaming is enabled. I've been given a default music stream which is fine. I belong to the property group. One of my allowed group abilities is to "Change Music and Media Settings" on the parcel I rent.
Yet, I cannot change music streams. Here's what I do. I turn off the current stream, rezz the radio changer, set a station, turn on the stream. But it's the default stream not the new one.
Could the problem be the radio I'm using? The station list being out of date? If that was the problem, I would think I would hear nothing rather than the default stream. It is a freebie radio changer. Is the script caput?
I've tried changing the stream using hte About Land menu, but I cannot change the settings on that menu.
Ideas? Thanks

In order for a script to change the media stream, it has to be owned by the same person / group as the land. In this case, you would need to deed your radio to the same group as owns your land.

Thanks for the quick response. I don't seem to have that option. The deed button is greyed out on my radio.
I do have the option to share it with the group. I have done so but it does not appear to work.

I do have the option to share it with the group. I have done so but it does not appear to work. You maybe don't have permission to deed objects to the group then. I don't think there would be any way around that, other than changing the stream manually or getting one of the group officers to help.

Thanks again Stephen. I now have that ability but still no go after I deeded the radio to the group.
Here's a question: Does the group have to own the land? The owner has to deed the land to the group (and all attending issues) for this to work?

No, if the land isn't owned by a group, the radio will work as long as it is owned by the same person as the land. If the land is group owned, the radio would need to be owned by the same group in order to work.

Thanks ... so I can give him the radio and he can place it on my parcel. That is easier than setting up a group owned plot.
We got it to work. Note that those freebie radios are suspect. It's impossible to tell how old the stream urls are.
Thanks Stephen for your help.

Thanks Stephen for your help. Get a new radio from Evolving Images, over 70 streams, all genres and customizable! Cheaper than any I have seen in SL. Most people charge way too much for them!
