Newb Q:

Is there a way to move small amounts? I tried shift, alt, and control arrow, to no avail.

Sometimes I want to get closer to someone and don't want to risk bumping into them!

Thanks
Jeff

I seem to have a naturally clumsy avatar myself. I wonder if I have a little drinking problem or something that I do not know about. When I try to go straight up stairs or in to a small space I seem to weave all over the place. What is that about? I use the arrows and sometimes use the movement control view. Neither of those seem to make me very graceful. I would love to know any tips or tricks to moving about so I can stop looking like a bull in a china shop busting everything!

Thanks Seifert!

Now I won't be quite so uncoordinated :)

Constance, I wish I could help you. Maybe set the vodka bottle a little further away? ;)

Cheers

I have that problem too. You are not alone!
I'm going to try the sppacebar thing and see if it helps.

Thanks for the tip about it :)

Personally I use mouselook to get about in most circumstances. With a little practice, your avatar will move about much more fluidly than with just the arrow keys.

In the regular view, if you click the avatar and drag it will give you similar control as mouse mode while walking. I usually use this mode. It doesn't give you as much control while flying though.

Never too late to learn...
I've been playing around with using the mouse to direct avvy, and found that by pushing forward or back, you can get a perspective like a birds-eye view or a low-down view. Kinda kewl. (Of course, the arrow keys make you walk forward or back, etc).
Glad I stopped in-- tx
