In the About Land menu... Objects tab under Primitives on Parcel.
What does "Selected / sat upon" mean?
I have one prim out of 452 showing up the under that catagory and don't know what it is.

Errr, it is the prim you are standing on? Try standing on bare, exposed ground and see what pops up.

It also means selected, such as prims that are right clicked on for editing. Usually, if you are building, the object count will always show a sit on/selected, because of the building process.

I think it is a bug. I have experienced the same problem even if I have no object selected, log off and back on, fly/hover above my land naked and so on.
Three days ago, I had 27 selected/sat upon objects that I could not identify. The next day, there were 0 objects selected/sat upon. Yesterday, I had 1, no idea what I have today because grid is down. There seems to be no reason to the numbers.
It would be nice if there was a "show" option to easily identify these objects, just like there are options to show my own and other people's objects.

Probably it means selected or sat upon by anyone, not merely you or the owner of the land or the owner of the objects.
Try it with a friend or an alt... have them right-click on an object and then fly off without doing anything. See if anything changes when they leave the sim, or log off.
Selected/sat upon objects seem to be immune from autoreturn, but can still be manually returned by the landowner.
