Just picked up a 27" LCD TV that I'm mainly going to use as a monitor for SL. It's rectangular and I seem to remember that there's a setting some where that you can select for a rectangular screen.
Anyone know????

Well Carolyn, there's rectangular and there's rectangular.
4:3, 11:9. 17:9 and some other hybrids. If you can't sort it on the tv aspect ratio toggle, right click the desktop for display/properties/settings and you should have the colour depth/screen ratio menu.

If it's the widescreen setting you're after, you'll find that on Preferences/Graphics - Fullscreen Aspect ratio dropdown
