If 40 people can crash a sim and there are 40,000 people on average on there must be over a thousand sims at least, does anyone know for sure?

I guessing that each sim is on a separate harddrive? or can one harddrive be partitioned to make several sims? or am i way off base on what the actuall hardware that holds the sim is?

Yes, 4 sims on one server (Class5).

And more than 8000 sims in SL.

http://secondlife.com/whatis/economy_stats.php says there are 8836 islands.

Dunno if they really mean sims or if that's actually the number of private islands out there.. I'd guess the former.

They dont!! They use an old Commodore 64 floppy drive. :D

The random sim crashes are the result of them using a "Disk Notcher" to make another 'read' notch on the floppy disk so they can use both sides of a single sided 5.25" floppy disk. :D

I always said: only get double sided floppies. ;)

may be more expensive but you save yourself a lot of trouble down the road. :D

that explains why SL is so empty

40,000 online -

10900 sims

thats give us an average of 3.7 people per sim.

Mari counts as a full person.

Mouth-breathing cybor-beggars only count as .35 each.

I see. I wasn't devaluing our little one's value as people. It was a reference to actual physical space occupied by an avatar. I stand corrected.
