Pryeri disaster

At 7 20 yesterday huge areas of content in Pryeri....houses, hostals, beach huts etc were deleted. No explanation has been forthcoming from Linden. My friends and neighbours have been made upset beyond words.
I then decided to re rez my home. This I did and built one or two objects, I also purchased some content. Imagine my shock when I log on a few hours later to find that part of my property had been again deleted, my recent builds vanished and expensive purchases not to be seen anywhere in my inventory.
Two neighbours informed me that Linden say it appears to be impossible to roll back to a previous condition.
Nobody has answered my query about whether or not it is now safe to rebuild.
A worried and upset

It happened about one week ago something similar to a Mainland sim (Manduca) where a lot (someone says 70%) of objects just disappeared.
The day after everything was all back at its place, I'm not sure if it was a rollback (someone said it was a rollback) or what, but things got fixed.
Good luck!

A neighbour informs me that Linden cannot/ will not roll back. Also that about 7000 prims were removed.
Are we looking at
1. an accidental deletion
2. hacking

I am the neighbor....

I contacted LL Concierge support and was told the following:

* The sim experienced a loss of about 7,000 prims on April 9, somtime between 7:20am and 7:50am SL time
* Since this is mainland, there is nothing that they can or will do
* All items should be in each resident's Lost and Found folder

They also seemed to suggest that my autoreturn setting had something to do with it (was set at 1 minute). That does not explain why neighbouring plots and even Linden roads are gone now.

There is nothing in my Lost and Found folder - I also checked with others. Same story.

I have again contacted Concierge support and plan to call them again today.

This is very disappointing to say the least.

I'm really sorry this happened to you! Please keep us informed as to what happens. It is important that we residents know what kind of action LL takes in a case like this.

I'm a bit concerned that this is the 2nd or 3rd time we've heard about this kind of thing in the last week or so!

I find it hard to believe that they can't roll back a sim. I would keep begging..

Thats true - but the bigger overall concern is how the sims end up empty in the first place =/

Although my land wasnt mainland (Anshe property) a sim-roll back was organised by Concierge team to s specific date and time, within 24 hours - i hope thay do this for you.

The concierge team was the nbest bit of LL i have had dealinsg with so far.

(As someone who has spent 152,00 plus lindens in 4 months - having finally got round to downloading my transaction history and doing some basic maths - , i know how improtant people's items can be and how devestating it is when inventory is lost!)

It looks like we have a rollback!

I cannot get in-world now but one of my neighbours says that it looks like things are back.

I also got a couple of messages from LL stating that they are trying to rollback but ran into problems. I'll update you on the final result.

Another update
04-11-2007 12:23
This is more of a personal update....

I bought a plot of land before all of this happened. Since the region was rolled-back I have lost the land - it does not show up on my account anymore.

I have asked LL to either put it back to the way it was before or refund the money I paid...will upate what happens.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? How did it work out?

What LL does about this is...... absolutely nothing. Despite dozens of emails, reports, contacts in avenues no longer in existance, etc.... my inventory that vanished in early December has never been recovered.

Oh Brave New World, with such people in it....

An important one of many reasons. But you know, if the sim is pretty much a total loss, as has happened in these recent couple of episodes, whatever losses incurred by the rollback are far outweighed by the gain. I'm glad they're stepping up to the plate for these folks, and I -really- hope they're looking into this issue.

I agree sweet and Zaph - preventing stuff like this should become a very high priority for LL's technical team.

What good is playing house if your house looks like its was on losing side of World War 3.

Final Update
04-13-2007 13:12
Just wanted to let you know that LL fixed everything: all items are back to where they were and they transfered land back to me that I bought before the disaster (I lost the land as part of the disaster).

Thank you very much to all Lindens that were involved with this! Thnaks to all the residents that helped out too :)

I was also really happy to see that phone support is working quite well..I spoke with someone each time I called and only waited about 2 minutes in the queue. :)

Posting here to move this back up to the top of the queue. When good outcomes happen, people need to know about it. :)
