:(

Honestly, I don't think there's much you can do - try emailing Kona Linden?

(As an aside, I'd never, ever buy a texture organizer that wasn't copiable - too much of that sort of thing happens and I'd miss my textures, oh yes.)

I did the same thing yesterday. Tried to rez a humming bird and instead it got embedded in a piece of my decking. The decking was following the path that the hummingbird would take and was moving all over the place so had to delete it. Goodbye hummingbird :(

It can happen that the object you are rezzing becomes part of the contents of the object that you are rezzing on top of.

As it happens, I discovered this after "losing" the box containing a texture organiser I had just bought. If you find that to be the case, you should be able to drag it from the objects contents and into your Inventory.
Dragging is the simple method, but by the time I discovered that, I had already dropped a 'give inventory' script into the containing object.

That discovery was followed by a tour of my prims, looking in contents :) There had been 'so many' times that I had simply shrugged after a rezz failed.
I found a body in my floor slab! Call the cops :)

Another possibility is due to the ||GiveInventory bug of sending things to seperate folders, this ~may~ have effected on rez. I'm not sure how the system gives you your items back after a failed rez, but I would hazard a guess it's the same format as ||GiveInventory. Check Objects folder as this would be the default folder for the object.
Good luck

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

WOW this must be happening to a few right now. It happened to me this morning as I was dropping out my motorcycle, it didn't drop my motorcycle but loads of plants and other stuff was floating throughout my house. I had to go around the entire house to take back all these objects so I am assuming that it is the bug that has caused major inventory mess up. Mixed folders and missing objects.

I lost over half my inventory onetime and still to this day have no idea where the objects went. Wonder if you might be having slow rezz? That has also happened to me when I dropped objects and then a few hours later they showed up on my land where I dropped them but down in the ground.

One other idea that might be worth checking out, look at 0,0,0 in the sim you attempted to rez it. Can't hurt to try, and a lot of stuff sometimes get stuck there.

After losing the hummingbird I rezzed my dog Arthur. I turn around and he's disappeared. So irritating.
