Here we go again. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Another resident warned me they experienced changes in "next owner permissions" in some of their products. I checked and found numerous such changes. I have never sold houses as "Transfer Only" yet numerous of my house vendor boxes were changed from Mod/Copy to Transfer Only. Even some installation boxes inside a vendor box were changed in this way. I had to go thru all of my vendor boxes and check them.

The biggest number of changes were found in vendor boxes inside of SLExhange and SLBoutique boxes.

Yes, some of my prefabs seem to be mysteriously turning no-copy, no-mod. I've had a few calls from upset customers which resulted in me having to go through builds piece by piece and reset the perms to copy, mod, no-trans all over again.

FYI

I saw a whole bunch of items move from 'copy' check box for selling to 'contents' check box for selling and/or lose sale status entirely.

Same thing with me! Just a couple of signs so far - but a couple just completely dissapeared because a buyer purchased the item and it was the original/copy/contents setting being messed up. Weird. I don't know what is going on.

All of the perms on my prefabs for sale in world and within the SLX and SLB boxes are fine. Sorry, not being smug...just pointing out that it's an isolated incident.

Here we go again. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

For the past several weeks (months?) I've seen this very similar problem- and I wonder if it's really the same issue:

1. I take a Mod/Copy/No Trans item that someone else made and rez it in-world.
2. I take that same item back into inventory.
3. The object's permissions are now No Mod/No Copy/No Trans.

It's very annoying, and as far as I can tell it happens to everything I own that initially allows copy/mod and was made by someone other than me. Once the item is rezzed, it becomes totally permissions-locked.

According to the knowledge base articles and faq entries on permissions [if you can be too lazy to find them yourself, i can be too lazy to put a link], perms can be changed in the inventory, but don't actually take effect until the item is rezzed. so, unless you have the debug perms set, you can't actually tell what perms something has until you rez it. Of course, then it's too late.

Why is this the case? Why is it so hard to be able to control permissions on items? Why isn't there an option to "set perms for contained items" or not? These are the questions we should be asking.

Actually, Caitlyn, a no-copy item should NEVER be copied, regardless of what the inventory permissions say. Regardless, I can make a copy of the original copiable item, and take the copy back into inventory, and that copy is now marked "No Copy." There is no way for a creator to say "Let owners make a copy from the original, but no copies from other copies." I therefore consider this to be a bug.

here something weird that happen friend and I are testing if I have this painting I made set up right.
She buys the painting.
Its no transfer, no mod. I allow copy for people to create backs ups and store in prims.
Then she tells me she is able to buy the no transfer item to her. Is able to do so repeatively.
So are we imaginging things or what? Or is my friend just teasing me?

I've had problems with perms changing on me for no particular reason and with no particular pattern I can discern. Just this last week it took me 12 hours to set perms to deliver a product because they kept changing and getting to the customer incorrect. I seem mostly to lose mod or copy perms on no transfer items. Very annoying. Been noticing problems for weeks though, just seemed worse than usual this week.
