I have rental houses and I want to use Bucky's Free Radio in them (ver. 2.6.4-a). They are each 512m and sit side by side with their 32m sides adjoining. The radio works fine, except that when the station is changed on one lot it changes it on the lot next to it. I have restricted the sound to each parcel and tried placing the radio in the center of each one, however this does not solve the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this to work or is it just that with the parcels being 512m and side by side it will not do what I want? Thanks!

I don't know about the radio since I've never used one, but it is generally a good idea to place your rental units with a 20m buffer between them so people can avoid having the neighbors hear EVERYTHING that might use a chat channel...if you know what I mean....

Either you or the person you rent the parcel too can go into About Land and click "Restrict Sounds to this Parcle" (or something like that. No buffer (and wasted land) required.
It won't work for chat, tho.

Something fishy here. Don't know "Bucky's" but "radios" typically control the parcel music setting, the thing controlled by one of the sliders at the bottom of the (classic) viewer. To isolate this "music," one must only subdivide the land so the parcels match the rental units. If the units are already on distinct parcels, something very strange is going on.
The option to "Restrict Sound to this Parcel" is also very useful, but affects "spatial audio" such as keyclicks, dopey gesture sounds, noisy waterfalls--stuff like that.
Sadly, there's no way to control chat spam except the 20m buffer mentioned by Isablan--hence the appeal of rental skyboxes, where at least the Z dimension is available for achieving that separation.

I suspect the the radio 'repeats' the command after it is sent, and is being heard by the radio in the adjoining parcel, thereby changing the radio there too. Just a thought but I would check the notes that came with the radio, and possibly the creator.

We fixed the problem. The chat channel used for the dialogs was hard coded, so both units were receiving the commands to change the media stream.. I just modified the script for her to make that channel a variable she could change on each copy of the tuner.
