search classified is working like it used to?!?

Suddenly this morning search classified is working like it used to (not just returning ads based on first word but all results that have the word in either title or description). Also the teleport numbers were all reset sometime during the night.

I don't see an announcement anywhere of it being changed back - does anyone have any insights about this before I change my ads again?

Don't know about that, but there was an announcement posted by Lindens that we'd be given a free week of classified ads for those who had been paying, since they haven't been working, but I got popped with a $1200 classified ad charge today, so not sure if they changed their mind or what. Anyone know?

Personally I think the way classified search is right now is an improvement over before. Now you can't have clubs choking their description with every possible keyword in order to come up in lots of (irrelevant) searches.

I think the ideal though would be a separate keywords entry when submitting the ad. It'll have a short character limit (basically the same length as the title) and this and the title are searched, but not the description. That would be a good compromise between vendors wanting more keywords attached to their ad, while still reducing the search load and clearing out the aforementioned gaming of the search system.

I would prefer a search similar to google where you could type in multiple words and it would give you reasonable results based on combination of search terms.

However, I think you may be mistaken. I typed in a few search terms and didn't get anything beyond classifieds with those terms in the title.

Oh yeah, I didn't read the OP fully. The classified search isn't working like before, it's only searching words in the title of the ad. Like I said though, I actually consider this an improvement. The next step would be a short keywords field.
