CTRL+SHIFT+1 Look at how many child agents we have all over now. I was always told that child agents are bad. That they are listeners or undercover scripts doing something sinister. When I saw one or two I was concerned but now there are 12 then 17 on the mainland and on islands.
Is this the new SL - are child agents mainstream now? And if not, how do I find them and get rid of them?

Child agents are agents (users, residents) in sims adjacent to the sim you are in.
There is nothing sinister about child agents. They aren't scripts. They aren't anything that anyone is doing to be bad.
They do add to a sim's processing burden.
Another way to look at is: if you can see into a sim other than the one you are in, then you are a child agent in the sims that you can see into, other than the one you are in.
For the sim you are in, you aren't a child agent, you are a full fledged grown up agent, placing even more burden on a sim's processing power than a child agent would.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville Child agents are agents (users, residents) in sims adjacent to the sim you are in. I've often wondered what Child Agents are, but this leaves me confused still. My sim is an isolated island, the nearest neighbor sim is about 30 grid spaces away, yet I get Child Agents reported by my sim now and then. How can this be? -Atashi

Boy, I've been here four months and I'm still lerning new jargon. I read the title of this thread and thought it was talking about child-aged avatars. Though now that I think about it, I should have recognized the term agent from the description on the LSL wiki.
This isn't a concept that most users will run across, and child agent is an unfortunate choice of words, but it's too late to change. I wish it had been something like secondary or basic agent.
