I've been "Ruthed" for quite a while now and have no idea how to get back to normal. Appearance mode isn't working, and neither can I drag my shape / skin / clothes on me from my inventory.

Any ideas?

Thanks bunches!

Teleporting sometimes fixes being Ruthed. Logging off and clearing cache and logging back on almost always fixes it.

Okay, just blast off with that and see if it helps.

There is an easier way to de-Ruth. Its called rebaking the texture. Basically you redownload your AV (I think).

Anyway it is in the debug menu. Ctrl-Alt-Shft-D opens the Debug menu at the top of the screen. Client/Character/Rebake Textures-it is the last one in the sub menu under Character.

It is a good idea to rebake from time to time because we can look Ruthed to others (or worse) and not see it and people can be too polite or uninterested to mention it. When you see people wearing the white clothing with black lettering, rebaking will bring back their clothes.

Hope this helps.

What about times when my character looks fine to me but others see me as Ruthed?
And not all in the group, some do some don’t.
Hummmm?

I was told by live help to go to an empty sim where the lag is very low and clear cache. That worked great and was told that clearing cache in an empty sim is much more effective than doing it in a high lag sim.

You can always try rebaking yourself. Also, if you are ruthed, if you go and open the appearance tool, close it, and then DON'T SAVE changes that will sometime revert you back to being your normal self again.
