I was going through my inventory and found an item called "cool particle" I opened it and it started bursts of light outside my house. I can't stop them. Usually you just click on the item and choose take to put it back but there is nothing to click on. I tried clicking the light flashes but no pie shows up. I tried purging the item from my inventory and it did go but the lights continued. I am sure my neighbours are not going to be happy. Can anyone help me?

You may have added this script to an object on your property. If you can figure out what it is in, I will give you another script that you can drop in the object to stop the particles. Try typing Ctrl + Alt + T. This is invisible mode. While in invisible mode, you will see things that are invisible/transparent. Such things will appear in a reddish looking color. The object emitting the particles may be invisible. You need to find it so you can drop the kill particles script inside that I'm going to give you.

(from memory): View->Beacons->Particle Sources
You'll then hopefully see a small blue cube with some blue axis lines at the source of the particles.

Hello Alana This is annoying but once you know the trick it's easy to deal with. First you have to get rid of the cloud of particles that are obscuring the emitter. You need the Client menu for this - it'll be to the right of Help if you have it open. If not, click ctrl+alt+shift+D. Next go into Client, then Rendering, then Types, and uncheck Particles. If you can't see the emitter you may need to highlight transparent - you'll find that in the View menu (can't remember the keyboard shortcut). Everything transparent will turn red. If you still can't see the emitter, you may have buried it underground. If this is the case, go into Client, Rendering, Types and uncheck Surface Patch. The ground will now disappear. Once you've found it take the little perisher into inventory (or delete it!). Then reverse all the steps to restore the world to normal - although you can keep the Client menu up - it's so useful. Hope this helps.
