I have posted so many bug reports now that I cannot keep up with them all.
I have made two requests for a trading limit review as I would like to buy an island.

Nothing !!!!

If Lindens are busy sorting out the grid issues, why mail me with a "your bug report is very important message" as it obviously is not.

If Lindens are here to make a profit why are they not allowing me to fund the island ?

I just don't get it.

I think because the Lindens won't answer, he just wants someone to answer! Even if it is just a lowly resident.

I feel your pain, OP.

Why did the promote SL when they had no plan or ability to handle the number of customers coming in? Imagine a store throwing a sale and promoting the crap out of it and then having one sales person on the floor when the throngs arrived.

I hope the company they sell out too has a better plan in mind.

Bug reports hardly ever get a reply. I would never expect to receive a direct reply to one of those. As for the tier increase, those have been known to take a week or 2, sometimes a little longer. I don't know what the current wait time is. Maybe someone that just got an increase could tell what the time was.

OT: but this practice does take place. It's called Short-Staffing, where a buisness runs with the absolute minimum people needed in order to operate the store. This happens at Best Buy, Home Depot, and a good number of the large retail chains. It's a stupid practice that's sole purpose is to make more profit while it hurts the employees and pisses off the customers. We're definately seeing the latter with LL.

It's too bad it's considered inappropriate for us to just post our fun stories in Resident Answers (even though some people do it anyway.) We could all share our feelings and have a big group hug. ;)

I have a funny story though -- ooh I wanna tell it before this thread gets locked! So I will. :)

I've submitted multiple requests to support asking LL to send someone to turn on autoreturn on a parcel that is next to a parcel I own in Quat that was abandoned back to them. This has been going on for over two weeks. Nothing happened. I built a sandbar (because it's a water parcel) to cover up the flames and crap in the parcel and submitted another support request. Nothing happened.

Yesterday after the updates I go in and still.. nothing has been done about the eyesore. BUT now the Linden Road bordering my parcel has vanished! Poof!! All gone. The road ends at the border of the adjacent sim. I put up a Dead End sign next to the road. I guess I shouldn't complain because if people crash where the road disappears, perhaps they will patronize my business. But now I'm wondering which one will be fixed first. The road or the abandoned lot? Or if I should give up hope on both. Does anyone want to place bets?

Well Annabelle, I just thought of something that might encourage them to fix the road!
Take away the Dead End sign and erect a picture across it of a road disappearing into the distance!!
LL should then get a plethora of bug reports about the road then ;)

Umm, you shouldn't need a trading review to buy an island... your account is more than 29 days old, after which you can sell up to US$5000 worth of L$ in a month, according to the trading limits page.

You would need a Wile E Coyote av to get away with that :)

Shipper: Bug reporting is not a conversation with Linden Lab. Bug reports typically do not get replies.

So is this just me being thisck? surely I need $3000 WORTH OF L$ to buy an island, or buy via auction. I have about $500 left

Your Remaining LindeX Trading Limits
per 24 hours per 30 days
Buy US$508.61 US$508.61
Sell US$5,000.00 US$5,000.00

I thought sell was the reverse of buy, i.e. I could turn back from L$ to $ ?

Am I wrong ?

You pay real cash for the island's up front and monthly tier, not Lindens, so how much you can buy and sell on the Lindex is irrelevant.

Edit: I would add that if your intent is to help cover your monthly tier for the island based on $L earned in-world, then yes, your ability to sell on the Lindex comes into play - the Lindens need to be converted to cash after all.. but the Lindex isn't the only exchange you can use either.

Are you wanting to buy with funds via your credit card? because if so, you should be looking at the purchase limit I think, which is $2500 in your case. However, if you've purchased almost US$2000 worth of L$ from your card this month, which I'm guessing from what you've said you have, then your purchase limit would only have about US$500 to go. Islands are only $1675 to purchase though, so if you wait till the next month, you'll easily be able to buy one within your limit.

Purchase limit "summarizes all US$ billing activity that was not fulfilled from a credit on your US$ account balance. The purchase limit restricts all nonrecurring US$ billing activity that can not be fulfilled from a credit on your US$ account balance."

So, if all those L$ were bought not from an existing US$ balance on your account, but your card, they'd count against both your purchase limit and your buying limit (which is the amount of L$ you can buy on the Lindex)... I think I got that right.

Sell is the reverse of buy yes :)... I had assumed because you were asking about tier increases you were looking to sell L$ to raise those US$.

As Zaphod said, you pay for islands in US$, but although how much worth of L$ you can buy is irrelavant, how much you have bought from your card is to your purchase limit.

The purpose of Posting a Bug Report is to Alert LL to problems with the program, the reports go on a Prioritized list of Things "To be Investigated and Fixed" The reports are made for the Over all Good of the SL Platform, they are NOT work orders to Fix Your specific problem Right Now.
You May or May not get an acknowledgement, but the actual Fix may not take place until the Next Download, Or perhaps a Few Downloads down the road based upon Complexity, relative urgency and overall effect upon platform performance.

Angel.
