Help please! I have been trying for days to log in to SL, I reinstalled Windows, clean, reinstalled SL, I get "Waiting for Region Handshake" then an error: "Unable to connect, login packet never received by login server"

1. I used a different account
2. Has my internet connection checked, they increased my speed..
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled
4. Wiped out PC and installed everythign from scratch... including Windows..

What is left, is this a particular issue with a workaround?

Thank you!

I'd check your firewall settings. Sometimes have the same problem when travelling around and using hotel Wi-Fi and it's always the hotel firewall.

No firewall at all
ISP not blocking
Windows Firewall off
Antivirus off
checked it all
Hoping there's a fix for this

I thank you for the time, I did learn all this on Wikipedia, so I have had the ISP to my house 2 times and been on the phone 5 times, and thay told me contunually told me that there is no ISP firewall. Well the solution is, I have a IP adress starting with 192 this means it is a shared address, and blocked with a firewall that I was told was not there as I have been telling Surewest for days is there. I contacted Second Life after being told 3 times that I was wrong. I am very concerned about the low level of Coustomer service and even inworld (went to a gamestore to get in world) I could not have access to a Linden, I hope that the focus of the game has not moved away from the #'s that made it big, and successful. As many people in Second life have made friends frome all over and love the ability that SL gives them to be a part of something big in thier small part of the world. I am disapointed in this experence and hope that this is just a exception to your regular Coustomer Service.

I'm sorry you're having this problem, but the forums are not the place to get a message to Linden Labs...the Lindens rarely venture over here to read.

If you have not done so already, please submit a ticket through the Support Portal or file a JIRA issue with all your computer specs and what you've done to correct the problem. That's really the only hope you have of getting any help.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Hmm.. Given that "Waiting for region handshake," means that you are actually logged in and are trying to connect to a sim/region.

One of the things I'd try is rebooting/resetting all routers and modems connected to this computer. It might be something else is 'clogging up the tubes' and hogging resources.

Also, quick tip on using the support system to submit a ticket. Don't use the quick search bar.. that will never let you get to the support options.

thank you I did submit a ticket and the information I was given was copied from Wkipedia I had read it days before, I just was wishing that we had the same wonderful service we have had in the past from the lindens. I am suprised that they are so hard to reach now.
