Week ago I tranfered land to a friend, since then I've been unable to exchange RL money for lindens ( I'm oversea's UK)

I thought perhaps it was due to my land sale that my credit rating had died so today I take the land back. hoping it releases my credit rating, but no it doesn't, for taking that land back I'm now charged $25 dollars, without MEANS TO PAY, due to Visa all of a sudden being not aceptable for LindenLabs.

After checking my card wasn't out of date, I deletted my card details, to reset them, only to be told the method of payment wasn't acceptable.

Did I miss an anouncement somwhere, that all chargecards for residents living outside the USA are no longer valid ?

I've had no contact fom LL saying why, no E-mail no phone call no snail mail, giving a reason why I've been blackballed.

I'm obviously curious as to why this option for payment has been removed

no announcements , but a lot of people in the UK (well considering the size of the posting population) have been posting about the banks issuing the cards putting holds on purchases because of some kind of fraud suspicion or something and the other reason was a spending limit. Call the credit card people that issued the card (toll free number on the back of the card) and ask them what's up :)

International cards are still accepted by SL if it suddnely stopped working it does sound like its on your end because no one has reported any interface problems on this end. Also if you repeatedly try to charge an ammount on a credit card it usually putsup a red flag and you need to call the credit card company to sort it out. Once you tell them yes to process it there should be no problem.

I have this problem when i try to purchase high priced electronic gadgets on the net (eg 2k worth of computer parts or something ) it puts up a red flag which means that in order to let the charge actually go through I need to call them and say Yes its me actually trying to buy something can you accept it? and they do.

also they have switchted to a new trouble ticket system if your free you have to use the email. If your premium there is queud trouble ticket system however this isn't supposed to cover billing or abuse.

thanks for the answer, however, when I tried to refresh the details, using the same card, and clicked submit, I was sent to a page telling me my payment method wasn't accepted and to try another, by Linden Labs not my bank.

If it was my bank I'd have thought I recieve some infomation from them ??

Yes phone the credit card guys. I would if i were you its a free phonecall so might as well. Its possible its linden labs but to me that looks as if the credit card company is not accepting something or other. In any event its worth a try because someone else posted about their credit card not being accepted and it was because of some kind of hold that was being placed on the cards by the company not LL's payment processor.

Anyhow phone the credit card people if they say everyting is okay then start working on linden labs (that's what I would do anyhow )

I've had cards suspended while I was traveling because the activity "looked suspicious". In all cases my bank did NOT contact me... they just stopped accepting new charges. That means the only way I found out about it was from a seller, who informed me the charge had been denied.

In your case, it looks like LL tried to run the payment and your bank rejected it, so LL told you it wasn't accepted. One would think LL would give some indication of the problem, but, well... it's LL. Not gonna happen.

Although it is possible LL is to blame, you'll never know unless you contact your bank. You really should try that. Every time my card got suspended, I got it restored and working again with a 5-minute phone call in which I gave info to verify my identity and then said "Yeah, I'm the one making these charges." It's way easier than trying to bang your head against the wall of LL "support".

It sometimes takes awhile for the card company to get to that. Dial the toll free number on the back of your card and see what's up. It may save you going back and forth with LL for no reason. Even if it is a problem with LL billing, they're just gonna ask if you called your credit card company. . .

I guess they don't want any money.

I've spoken to the card issuer after they called me about a "suspicious attempted transaction" (Linden Labs) they unblocked them, the website told me to re-enter my payment method, neither of my cards are accepted.

I raised a ticket, no response whatsoever.

Amusingly I still owe them $9.95 for this months premium membership.

I would love to give them money but they just don't seem to want it.

I wonder if my Paypal will work when I get it verified (which I have never had to do for anything else and isn't mentioned anywhere).

I'm not very impressed, if I company can't even take someones money....
