Flickering and Flashing

I periodically experience my display flashing and displaying things strangely. It's as if single colors of some of the textures are being streamed out in random flashes along the x,y,z axes. Sometimes I can log out and in again several times and it goes away. Today I was having the problem and it seemed to be exacerbated by moving around my camera when I was working on a build. When I was zoomed out it wasn't too bad. When I zoomed in to work closer (when clarity would have been useful!) it got much worse.

Is there something in my settings that I can alter to at least ameliorate the problem if not actually fix it?

Update your graphics drivers first, because that is a very likely source of this kind of problem.

If you've downloaded the new viewer, and the problems started since that time, you should review your graphics settings and adjust them slightly downward to see if that helps.
