hi there, i'm sure this topic has been covered lots but i have searched and not found anything, i'm moving around a space mainly flying and then the next moment i'm zooming off in a new direction. Eventually the screen returns to where i was but it can take 10 seconds to get back to where i was, its extremely anoying and disorientating. i'm using a fast core2duo mac with 256mb graphics card and have a 4mb internet connection thanks for looking

Hello Silence, lovely name and welcome!
It seems to be on the increase just lately. Did it a few times last night. Not sure if it helps directly or merely quenches my irritation but I instinctively hit the Esc key when I start 'running away'.
Don't think it's anything to do with your setup :)

This is due to SL lag. Maybe something large came into view and is trying to rez, A large script in range is running, you entered a SIM will many people in it. Anything can add to the lag, many times it is something you can't see.

And remember the real life computer that is running the Sim you are in can also be running up to 3 other Sims on it. so if 1 Sim is lagging then it is possible the other 3 Sims will feel the crunch as well.

I find this most commonly happens when i Fly across Sim Boundries, or if i Pass over a seperated propertie that has a Large number of avatars, or active scripts on it. I've found it best to Keep the mini Map up when i am flying, and Veer away from heavily Populated regions, Aldso, it's best to Hover before you cross a Sim Boundry, and allow some of the objects in the New sim to Rez before Crossing (Reducing Draw distance when Flying can help also).

Angel.
