A bot on my land I've been watching an av on my land. It's a few months old with one group and nothing else in its profile. It stands on my land for quite a while and then poofs. A few minutes later, it appears again for quite a while before poofing again. It did that a number of times so it's obviously a lost bot. I decided to test it so I IMed it. I was astonished to get a reply but it didn't speak english. Then it put a tag on and a couple of miutes later if poofed again and hasn't been back. So it wasn't a bot at all, thank goodness. I'd hate people to get a wrong idea about me - I could get into trouble, or a reputation, or even both!

Good thinking, Amar. It could still be one of those 'intelligent' ones that she fancied getting 'together' with

Be careful, Phil. Bots can be very convincing, and you may never truly know their intentions.

It was a he, so there are two in the store he could have chatted up, but more likely he was interested in the damsel in distress in the castle. Stupid bot never found her.

Probably somebody you created and forgot about long, long time ago, whose been wandering the grid ever since, looking for you.........dad........

Phil, what do you mean when you say, "I put a tag on him"?

Bots can reply to messages. There's a couple of bots on a sim I visited that are quite capable at conversing (if you're asking questions about the company they represent). Also, if I found a bot on my land, I'd probably just ban and eject it.

Maybe they were copybotting, though.
