It's the same as for putting a video stream on any prim face.
Set a texture on the face, select that texture as the one to be associated with the video stream for the parcel. I've got a video stream on a vertex vomit sculpt. It's a hoot! ![]() It's the world's first 3D video screen. It take a huge amount of practice before you brain can work out what the picture is. How much practice - I don't know yet ![]() |

i've got it running on animated sculpties too, no difference at all( except all the diifernce in the world)

Question on this:
Could you "stream" in video that was basically a series of scupltie textures to create a "moving" animated object? Think claymation here for stop picture filming. ~Jessy _____________________

Has to be more of both a server side and client side resource hog though. Fact One: Everthing uses rescorces. Fact Two: We don't want to eliminate everything to avoid rescource use. simple fact: for every foolproof plan there's a bigger fool you didn't count on example prim creation uses resources. is it a resource hog? it can be.(greygoo) to be sure, video on animated sculpties HA anyone wanna make them phisical wiglling interlinked blinging torii as well? [sarcasm off] probably not but for a video shot or a snaphot is nicer to have the facility than not don't you agree? _____________________

Has to be more of both a server side and client side resource hog though. client yes, server no, it's not going through the linden servers at all. The client has to update geometry every frame of course, and video compression could be a bit problematic since it's usually lower quaility than jpeg. How much of a hit it is depends a lot on the machine you use for SL. It's probably not any worse than a few conventionally animated sculpties in one place. |

I still get the blobs when I first walk up to a sculpty.. Upgrading my video soon.. hope that helps..
You can set the media stream to anything you put a texture on. I accidently set our media texture to my hair texture when it first came in.. When that worked I proceded to set everything I was wearing to one texture and play a movie all over me.. It tingled a bit.. |
