I noticed a group I belonged to had money being taken from group members labeled "everyone" to pay the $30L fee for publishing the land in PLACES. (this particular group was unaware and quickly unchecked the option.)

That is not a whole lot of money split by 100 members, I realize, but the question is this: What stops a officer from creating a huge expense for the "group" and clicking the the option for the members to pay it out of their accounts without their consent? I can't think of other charges to group besides the land fee, so this could be a moot question. I suppose its rather small. It just seems to me a potentially huge problem with a group operated by a crook.

It auto-checks that.

I had no idea, and once I found out I unchecked it. Personally I dislike when im in a group and have to pay a liability, I think most people have no idea they can turn it off, though

I think the only expense that can be a group liabilty is the $30L a week.

The bigger concern is that if the group sells group owned land, anyone checked with Accounting liability gets a share of the proceeds.

lindens decision to have that enabled by default is beyond comprehension. also there is the fact that officers can sell land by default, i cant believe they havent changed that.
