Very weird foot bug

Heya all!

I've got a foot bug for quiet a time now.
it's like the pants, better said my avatar mesh flares at the bottom of my pants, looking very ugly. The mesh seems to widen at the bottom and even goes into the ground. I logged in at the computer of a friend of mine and the bug disappeared, but as soon as I log in on my PC, the bug is there again...
A Linden told me that it could be my W-Lan, but it worked before with the same W-Lan network and just appeared one day.
I already tried the usual things like clearing cache, complete reinstall (even with cleaning registry) etc. etc.
If I zoom out a bit farer, the bug seems to disappear, but I can't really edit my clothing and all that far away.
As said...it looks like one of those old disco pants with flared pants bottoms and it seems to be the AV mesh, since when I change my skin color, the flare color also changes.

Anyone got any idea how to fix that?

I would be so thankful, it's really annoying.

Hoping for a response,
Roman

THANK YOU I thought it was only me.

Is it that the bottom of your pants seem to flare out and hang in an ugly fashion in a brown colour around your feet?

I've only noticed it since the new viewer .. it seems to go away when I change pants then after a few mins I notice it's back but I can't put my finger on what I do to trigger it.

lemme guess...the flare has the same color like your skin does..

and it's always there with every long pants

Edit: do you use W-Lan or cable?

This happened to me too. Can't rememeber if it was me or an alt. I filed a bug report with screen shot, but all I got was one of those automated replies with nothing further heard about it.

I'm on cable with a non-wireless lan.

Is your video card a nvidia?

The problem went away when I got a new computer. However I think this solution would be a bit exteme if this was the only reason to get a new computer.

Isn't this just standard with certain kinds of pants when you don't wear socks/shoes? I think Robin Sojourner made some barefoot socks that correct this. Hope this is what ya'll are talking about.

Happens on some of my nvidia cards too
I found it happens on a FX5700LE and GForce FX5500

Seems to be ok using a GForce 6150LE

And yes, all the computers have the latest drivers.

It didn't happen in the past at all, but now it does. I'd say the problem about started a month or so ago.

I had a similar problem--the bottom part of any pants, from about halfway on the shin down, was missing. There was something odd going on with my hands too--like prims partially embedded in them. I reinstalled the viewer after defragging and deleting the cache, and the problem is gone--for now. FWIW, I'm using OS X.

For your information:

I just completely reinstalled windows, installed newest drivers, DirectX etc.

Footbug is still there.

I would add, as I said I haven't seen the bug in a while so it may be related to the viewer version. I don't remember what I was using at the time, however I was a First Look user, always upgrading to the latest version.

Now that its codebase has been implemented in the main client, I'm using its latest version. I'll be carefully watching for the bug, should it come up again. I do wear pants most of the time, since skirts do mame my ass so big... :)

I would also like to add that I do always use the latest video card drivers.
