Somehow i lost my camera controls and i'm lost. I tried the obvious view, camera controls. I reloaded SL. Still no camera controls.
When I use the new voice version of sl the camera controls are there, so i clearly did something stupid.
Can anyone please help this newbie? thanks

They may have been moved off screen accidently. If you have a HUD, you can click and select edit - scroll with your mousewheel and hopefully find your controls just off screen  Hope this helps.

OK - if you don't have any HUDs (heads-up display) already attached, just go ahead and attach an object there so you have something showing on your screen. Easiest thing is to go into your "objects" folder and just attach something big enough that you can see it. Right click, select "attach to HUD" and then choose "center." You'll see the object in the middle of your screen. Right click on the object on your screen and select edit. Then while you still have the edit window open, use your mousewheel and scroll all the way out - see if your camera controls are now in view. If they are, just drag them back into place.
I dunno but it's worth a try.

This happens to me everytime I change my screen resolution, or switch from full screen to windowed and back. Change resolutions in full screen or change window size if you're windowed. Eventually, I find it off the edge in the direction/corner it last was. Good hunting!

As someone else pointed out, they probably moved off-screen somewhere . Edit / Preferences - Graphics tab - Drag the "UI Size" slider all the way to the left (0.75) and click OK. Make sure the controls are showing (View / Camera Controls is checked) and hopefully you'll spot them . If you still can't see them, try switching to a larger resolution for a second (Edit / Preferences - Graphics tab - Display Resolution, or click the maximize button if you run in a window). If you spot it, just drag it somewhere to the center and switch back to your old resolution (or old UI Size) and done. The last resort is slightly more complicated so I'll leave it out since the above usually lets you find it again . |
