Hi,
The following has happened to me twice of which I'm certain, and I fear it may have happened many times without my knowledge.
Here is an example: I was dancing at a club and then chose to stop dancing. I then TPed to a different location. My avatar stood at the new location without dancing. However, an SL resident at the new location informed me that I was indeed dancing. So from the perspective of the location, I was animated; but from my perspective, I was not animated whatsover.
I chose Stop Animations, but that did not help. Finally, I logged-out and back-in to the same location. The same SL member informed me that I was no longer dancing.
As you can see, this could prove embarrassing. Last night no one would talk with me for more than 20 minutes: maybe that was because I was animated and didn't know it!
Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you resolve this problem without logging out/in? Were you able to determine that you were no longer animated without having to ask someone?
Thanks! Avanti

Make absolutely sure you have stopped dancing, or are standing up if sitting, before TPing out. The Stop Animations toolbar works maybe 50% of the time at best for me. A lot of places have a stop animation device on site. I have one in inventory as well I use if the Sim allows rezzing. As a precaution I always TP Home before going somehwere else. If you are positive you are not animated and it still happens, I can't think of a solution beyond relogging.

Wow this could lead to some really embarrasing situations for those people useing 'naughtier' animations. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Hello Avanti. There are a number of things your avi may appear to do on your screen but for whatever reason, the code hasn't filtered through LL servers to perform on every one elses. Often people would tell my I was dancing still and someone kindly gave my a 'stop all animations' object to wear and take off again on such occasions. If no-one offers you one sooner, IM me in world and I'll send you a copy.

Easiest way to totally prevent this from ever happening is to always stop your animations with the item or device that animated it in the first place. Using a club dance machine? Click it again to stop the connection to it. You can "stop all animations" from the toolbar and it will kill the current dance you're doing, but it wont stop the device from REanimating you when the current dance anim changes to a new one on the dance machine. I would bet the club dance changed while you were in mid-TP causing you to show animated to others.
