I'm looking forward to this so much, I registered some SL related .mobi names I'm not exactly sure how this will work, I'm by no means an expert when it comes to "remote access" type technology. I'd imagine the lag would be unbearable if you tried to do anything complicated, however as a mechanism for doing simple tasks such as responding to IM's, buying/selling land, camping , etc I really think this has potential! I'd appreciate some ideas on how people think this may be implemented as well as how you feel about this innovation

Looks at calendar ... nope, not April 1st!
Heck! I put my 19" screen down from 1024 to 800 wide to get the text clearer and the IM window almost touches the Inventory! A smaller display?!?!

No. I don't own any mobile devices, other than a phone that stays in my car. And don't have the need to be playing SL away from home.

Count me in the no column. SL is ALREADY as addictive as black tar heroin. I don't need to mainline.

A smaller display?!?! Hehe I'm used to those displays. I have a little zaurus which I bought from Japan a couple years back... The little thing has a 4 inch screen and full VGA From: Hotspur Otoole Count me in the no column. SL is ALREADY as addictive as black tar heroin. I don't need to mainline. SL sure is addicting! I can only imagine as the numbers of residents to continue to climb, we'll see employees (maybe employers alike ) take out their cell phones when they think no ones watching and start plunking away edit: I would imagine that something like this will really catch on should this technology ever be ported to the Treo line. And here I was thinking I'd need to buy an OQO for a *truly* mobile SL experience

While I love SL, there are a few places it should NOT follow me... bathroom being one of them. Besides, I tend to lose my cell phone on a regular basis, so I'd rather not have it on there Now, if we could just get my laptop to run it decently.....

I barely use my cell phone anyways. Seriously, I'd be struggling to type a message to somebody (I hate phone texting XP ) and trying to do anything on such a small screen.

I couldn't be less excited, really. I think it is highly unlikely that SL on any mobile device would be useful for anything besides chat, and that is the least interesting aspect of SL for me. If I could build and script, well... No, actually, even then I have no interest. Just doesn't get me going, sorry

SL on my PHONE!? o.@
...that'd be awesome!
I already use my phone for constant text messaging (am fast at it, too...) Being able to access my friends list would be... a bit scary. o.o

Being able to access my friends list would be... a bit scary. o.o Finally someone who thinks it's as wicked as me To all those out there complaining about the lag it would have, look at the OQO Model 02. The thing doesn't even weigh a pound and packs 1.5ghz a 60gb hard drive and 1gb of ram. It won't be more than couple years and this kind of technology will have eveolved to the point that it can fit into something Treo sized. Once LL adopts Mono, such a device should be more than sufficient for an enjoyable SL experience. edit: Here's an article on it for those interested https://www.technologyreview.com/Infotech/18195/

I would be totally excited about it if a) I had a decent phone, and b) if I went anywhere.
