I just created a group= but the members want their names hidden. Is there any way to hide members names? Thanks

Sure..make it an Ageplay Group and all their names will be hidden,,,permanently.

In the group info screen in the "Members & Roles" tab select the "Roles tab" then select a role (I assume your members are under the Everyone role so select that).
In the bottom left corner you will see a checkbox "Members are visible". Make sure that is not checked.
Now if your not in the group you will not see the members names. If you are in the group you will still see member names.

How about if someone looks in a group members' profile? Will their membership be visible there?

I'm not aware of any way to hide your memberships in your personal profile.

I think you can keep a group from showing in it's members group list by leaving the box in the General tab of the group information dialog for "Show in Group List" ( on the left underneath the label "Group Preferences"  unchecked.

If you are hidden through the groups menu your membership does not show up on your profile to others who dont belong to that group.
When you look at your own profile - it shows up. When you look at the profile of others in that same hideen group it shows up.
