I have a few questions... probably simple ones but here goes... is there a way to keep the sounds w/out the typing when people chat and w/out them doing the "/" before their words? & a way to get the swooshh & pay sounds to not play as well? Other than completly muting sounds in world.. which stinks at times. I'm ususally logged in, in game and I'm gonna try to get back to the forum.. if I remember how I got here lol

If you type two slashes like // then this makes you chat silently without the annoying / in front of your chat. If you want to keep the typing sound and turn off the typing animation you can try using a high priority standing and sitting animation that basically override the typing animation. Use with caution though as lots of people tend to walk away while you are typing a response. I have no idea how to mute those other sounds.

The ch-ching I can help you with :)
In Preferences there is a currency limit at which you get the sound. I can't remember which tag it's under. Simply set it incredibly high and you should never get it :)

You can turn off your own typing animation in Client Debug Settings - it's PlayTypingAnimation.

You can turn down the the wind, footsteps, and UI volume in Preferences / Audio & Video / UI Volume .

You can turn off "Notify when Linden dollars (L$) spent or received" in the Preferences General tab; I think that might stop the pay noise.

You should be able to redefine some sounds in Client Debug Settings, one is named
UISndTyping, as an example. You could make a wav file of silence, upload it, get its UUID, and replace the UUID shown for UISndTyping with the UUID of the silent wav file, and that would make people's typing not audible.

Oh, here's a UUID for a sound of .13 seconds of silence: 4cd8a408-54a2-f9cf-2a37-3889dc1d93b0 .

.wav files must be no longer than 10 secs, also SAVE AS mono or stereo, 8- or 16-bit sounds, with sample rates of 44.1 KHz or 22.05 KHz. Windows Sound Recorder will let you save sounds under this format, though it's not the default format.
