My alt and my friend live on property owned by my primary. We can not set the Home Landmark. So, the prime made a group for that parcel but can't deed it to the group. I keep getting a message that the group does not have enough land use credits. I have looked all over theknowledge base and still can't find out what that means.

Can someone help me please.

Thanks in advance ,

Um, I don't have access to SL right now so I can't go in and check, but I think it has somthing to do with contributing your land tier to the group. I think it's under the land tab in the group window.

If the prime deeds the land to the group he needs to deed his tier contribution along with it. There is a checkbox for that. If this is clicked, it works like a charm.

Setting the Home Landmark is a permission which is set in the group info. This needs to be enabled for the roles to which your alt and the friends are assigned.

I recommend to first deed the land (as outlined above) and then go spend some time and play around with group permissions. Good luck!

It used to work without problems when the needed premissions were given to the group members.

I moved very recently the buildings on my land a bit around. And my partner wanted to renew her home-spot to a new location on the land, but it didn't work. I heard people mention that there was some kind of bug concerning this.

Deed the and to your group so they can set home there (and as stated above be sure their role allows setting home). Once they have their home set, you can undeed land by selling it to you for 0L. Home position will still be there.

Okay I deeded the parcel to the group

now when the primary tries to buy it back..... it shows that adding it will increase my land and also my tier fee.....(in other words, if I had 10,000 and deeded to 2000 to the group, I still show 10,000...when I try to buy the 2000 back, it puts my total land at 12,000)

Now what!!!!!!

Please help

Leave the land deeded to the group. Groups can hold 10% more land than an individual without incurring a higher tier fee, and while the land remains group owned all the other group role benefits apply - for example, you can give the alts the ability to build and to rez prims on the parcel, while no one else other than you can do so without auto-return rejecting them.

If it mentioned anything about tier fee increasing when you did that, it sounds like you are on the mainland, and you failed to donate tier to the group to cover the land being deeded to the group. You need to fix that ASAP. You will need to donate tier to cover the group's ownership of the land, or the land will get reclaimed for insufficient tier. This will bring you down by the amount of land that you donate. Once the group has sufficent donated tier to cover what it owns, then you could sell it back to yourself without increasing tier for that month. But seriously, I would expect the benefits of having the land grouo owned would be better. (On a private island sim, there is no need to donate tier to the group.)

My land is "owned" by a land group, of which I am the sole owner. I am the only one who can sell the land, get money from it, or pay liabilities for it. My group officers, as well as myself, can freeze and eject troublemakers, add people to a ban list, add people to an access list. People in a "Residents" role can set their home point on the parcel. All members can rez prims there, if they are wearing the group tag at the time. Auto-return will remove prims left by anyone not in my group. All these effects are managed by the land group's roles, and are only possible if the land is deeded to the group. Buy it back, and all your alts can do that any other person can't is to keep the home point that you allowed them to set.

I just added my alt to my group (my land is deeded to group) and had her set home. However, this is on an island so perhaps it's different.

when you deeded to the group you checked "owner makes contribution bla bla" that's why tier changes show up when trying to buy back to yourself. Deeding land just to allow others to set home doesn't need any contribution. Group land can have advantages, but can be messy to understand.
Next time just deed land to group witn NO contribution, then sell back to yourself for L$0 after everybody have set their home, or just leave it deeded until you'll chose to sell it.
Remember that when selling land deeded to a group, incomes will be shared with group members, so be sure you want it, else sell it to yourself for L$0 and then you can sell it out getting all the income ;)
