Yesterday, I sold my little plot of land. The land was set for sale with "objects not included". I was under the impression that by setting it this way, everything on my land would return to me at the time of sale completion. However, this has not yet happened. The money went into my account immediately with no problems - but I seem to have lost all of the items that were on my land. I did go back to the land immediately after the sale to see what it looked like, and there is nothing there. The stuff has obviously gone "somewhere" - but where?? I have checked my Lost/Found folder - nothing. I have also searched my inventory for specific items I knew should have been returned and they are not showing.

Is it usual for there to be a time delay before items show as being returned? or can I assume that I am one of the many other people here who have lost inventory items, and resign myself to the fact that I may have to buy them all again?

Sue, if the person that bought your land did a "return All Objects" , some items may have been bundled together as a single return item. I'd check that folder in a bit, and see if that was the case. You may need to rez the things in that folder. ie: just because it says "High Prim Frilly Lamp" doesnt mean that that is all thats there ...

Try that and let us know what ya find out :)

The buyer may have deleted the stuff. One can delete other people's objects one one's land.

That's only true for copy items (which can include a house you built yourself and never saved to inventory since technically you do have copy rights for it). In the case of no-copy items, they'll return to Lost and Found upon "deletion" (by someone else), or that's the way it should work :).

In fact no... the new owner has to deliberately return your objects. They will stay put on the land, and still be owned by you, until the new land owner takes the action of returning your belongings.

If you are truly concerned, go visit the land yourself. If your things are still there, just right click -> take. If your things are not there when you visit, then it's possible that the things have been deleted, although I didn't know this was possible. I was under the impression that 'return' was the only option.

Thanks for the replies. The new land-owner did return all objects to me and did not delete them. I went back to the land almost immediately upon sale (within 3 minutes), and had a very nice conversation with new land-owner who was there. He said he had returned all objects to me, and I have no reason to suspect they were deleted. I am just thinking this may be part of the whole "missing inventory" thing that has been going on for so long.

Many thanks to Holyhell Cassell for your suggestion. It was absolutely what had happened. I went to a sandbox and rezzed a couple of things and hey presto - everything was there. My inventory is now complete again.
