Just been browsing the BBC News and found that there is a reporter entering SL for the first time today and is posting a blog of his experiences, last log was at 1230(gmt) and he was 'tweaking his appearance'

here is the link

Might prove interesting...

13.45 and he's tried his first attempt at chat .. sadly the other participant wandered off LOL
God, I'm only a week old and it seems such a distant memory :-)

Thanks for the link, Miles. The reporter's blog looks great so far. It brings back a lot of memories from when I was his "age". I'm sure many would agree. It should be very interesting to follow is progress.

It will make interesting reading as our intripid BBC reporter makes his way round SL.

Wonder who he will bump into...

Oh fond memories there. I still have the calling card of the very first person i chatted with in SL
Like the reporter, i found Orientation Island to be a bit overwhelming. People were flying, running, and there was a boat. Figured out how to fly, started to take a peek around and had my first "Can not enter parcel, not on access list".

I guess since i was flying around, i missed the "This way out" sign. go ahead and laugh, but it took me 3 days to get off that island :|
