I want to start a new group, but need to turn off the IM feature. I don't see that as an option when assigning roles to members. Is it always on?

From what I have seen, it is always available. I wish that weren't the case.

What I have seen done is the group owner specifically banning people who abuse the chat function of the group. Banning not only from the group but any land owned or operated by the group/owner as well.

Ideally, you'd have a tick box like the one for group notices that applies to the group IM's, however I don't know if/when anyone at LL will do anything about it with all the other issues out there. Don't know if it's in the JIRA system either, since I seem to be too stupid to understand it.

thanks for your responses. I did discover a "service change request" or whatever it's called in the JIRA.

However, when I tried to log in, it accepted my name and password, but would not show that I was logged in or that I could vote.
