I'm ready to begin building a shop on my 512 plot of land and I'm excrutiatingly aware of the low 117 prim limit.
When I create multi-prim objects to sell, and I am displaying them in my shop (on textured prims).....do my multi-prim objects for sale always reside in my inventory, without affecting my land's prim limit (god I hope so)......???

From: Raven Ivanova I'm ready to begin building a shop on my 512 plot of land and I'm excrutiatingly aware of the low 117 prim limit.

Hello Raven, I'm a little confused as to what you're saying. If you are boxing up your items into one prim with a picture/texture on the outside to display them (I'm assuming this is what you mean), then no...the items *inside* the display do not count against your prim usage. As for what is in your personal inventory: those items do not count against your prim usage but your customers are purchasing the box and its content, they are not purchasing from your inventory. Clear as mud? Best, ~Ari

Thank goodness!
So I can have many prims inside one prim, and only that one prim counts against my prim usage. I was praying that was the case.
And yes you figured out what I was asking - I had no idea whether or not the items were actually being purchased from my inventory, or from the prim box display.
Thank you, Ari.

One thing to consider as you try and do a store on a 512 parcel is to dispense with the notion of traditional architecture. You can do something open air, skip the prims for walls and ceilings, and still have an attractive shop....

I like the way you think. Just last night after my eyes were spinning from creating a fancy texture that would save on prims, I asked myself, Now do I really need a ceiling? -- Nope.
It's rather fun, thinking "outside the box".

You're very welcome Raven, and I hope your shop does well! Isablan's advice is spot on: the open air concept is the way to go in order to save on prims...and who needs walls anyway Best, ~Ari
