new friends list format

I have a question about the new format of the friends list. I understand that you are now able to toggle on-line status, map visibility, and modification rights. I also understand that all three of those toggles have icons associated with them that appear next to your friend's name when ticked. My question is that there appears to be four spaces for icons, but only three toggle options.

What in holy hell is the fourth column for? Am I missing something or am I just an idiot?
(And by the way, the latter has caused me problems in the past.)

Thanks in advance for what I'm sure will be insightful replies.

Scob... the 4th position is to indicate others that have given YOU rights to mod THEIR objects.

I could be wrong....but...I believe the other column is to help identify who is online (if they are choosing to show as online).

Happy Bedlam gets my vote. If you notice - choose a friend that is offline and activate their ability to modify your objects. You'll note the little box icon with an arrow lights up in the coloumn. Well, that last remaining one as Beldam said is when your buddy grants you the rights to mod their items. Pretty spiffy, huh?

A friend's list with idiot lights. Now if I could only get an oil pressure gague on mine...

how the online status thingy actually works - if you want to hide your online status, how does it show up for the person you are blocking?

In other words, does you blocking them show up? I'm guessing not, because what would be the point otherwise?

Thanks,

They're still in your friends list, but they don't get an on-line icon next to them, and their name doesn't appear in bold (as it does for friends who are online and permit you to see that).

What are those letters at the top of the rows? D and R, maybe, I forget exactly what they are. But what do they stand for?

Correct. I have the rights to "modify someone elses objects" (hmmm... is it me or does that sound funny?). I see with person a icon in the fourth colomn.

You should be aware that anyone you've disabled from seeing your online status can still see it on Friends Online. Same if they call you up in Search. So this feature has to be used with some caution if you want to avoid alienating your friends.

Also, I haven't found out yet what happens if you disable a friend who's online ... do they get that message in the lower right corner saying you're going offline?

Also know that there are devices that can you show you if someone is online or not... no matter if they are on your friendlist or not, set them invisible to you on their friendlist or whatever.

It means that the "don't show online status" indicator is worse than useless. What should have been done is a simple option that causes you to appear offline in every respect, to everyone.

Yes Daisy, does sound a bit daft that you show offline in one part of the system and online in another. A little coordination would make life simpler. As it is, more problems have been created :(

Yes, I think the current solutions only effects the friendlist. The device I am talking about checks directly if someone is online or not.
