I have just bought land on an island. I was advised to form a group and the land was deeded to the group. As I am the only member of the group it will be desolved shortly. What will happen to my "group" owned land?

Should I get an Alt so as to have another group member? What other advantages would there be to having an Alt?

I have no friends at this time but if I did would there be any disadvantages to having them join my group

What should I do?

Find a friend with an open group spot, don't assign them any permissions.
Problem solved!

Quick, and Easy, I would create the Alt, you get the Benefit of group Ownership without the attendant risks of Sharing control of your land with others, In addition, If you have a Business, like Building or what-Not, You get private time to Build by Using your Alt, and Not giving his/her name out to people on your main friends list.

Ah, but some people can't afford the $9.95 alt fee.

You can still get one free unverified, can't you? it's the aditionals that Cost, and the Alt being a member of a Land Owning group Needn't be Verified, Only the Land Owner/Group creator must be.

If the group dissolves before you do something about it, you *could* lose the land!

Make an alt or invite a trusted friend into the group, ASAP. It takes two to make a stable group.

If you invite a friend, just restrict the roles they are in so that they have only those permissions you feel comfortable with.

Check with the sim owner that you bought the land from or with their Estate Manager(s) for more details.

This came up recently on LA where someone asked than since she went premium straight away, if she was still entitled to a free basic account and the answer was no.
Of course unverifieds can create unlimited unverified alts since they don't have a credit card/bank account to pay any fees .

If the group dissolves, the land will remain deeded to the group, but there isn't any way to get the group back (or to create one with the same name).

If this happens you should contact the estate owner and ask them to reclaim the land, and deed it back to you once more.

You should be able to get (although the no-transfer ones will simply get deleted upon return) group-deeded objects back since when returned they'll be returned to their previous owner.
