I WISH they would Bring Back In World Account History Viewing

How are other people managing their businesses now without any reliable sales information in game? I wrote in before as below:

I MUST STONGLY PROTEST AS A THREE YEAR VETERAN OF SL PAYING NEARLY$500 A MONTH AT THE ARBITRARY REMOVAL OF IN WORLD ACCOUNT HISTORY AND THE REPLACEMENT BY THE AWFUL LIMITED AND USELESS TRANSACTION HISTORY ON THE SITE !

PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD FORMAT WHICH EVERYONE LIKED, NEEDED AND USED.[/B]

But of course they never replied.

Since LL introduced this (without consulting anyone) I have the following problems:

- Can't any longer see what I am selling each day - the transaction history shows every single thing as ONE long list transaction and doesnt give me ANY daily profit or loss totals or segment totals like before.

-Can't find who is renting my properties - I can no longer see in game anyone new subscribing to my rentals which means I cant send them the necessary group invite, I can't IM them, and I cannot organise their door lock scripts. This means people join, I don;t know, they don't IM me, their objects are not in group, bounce back and so a week later they leave and angrily IM me asking why I don't contact them. This ONE change has RUINED my rental housing income and caused me great aggravation.

- Can't find my store sales because the stupid site listing includes EVERY SINGLE $1 Money Tree Transaction individually so trying to go thru a list of the limited to 500 transactions means plough thru hundreds of money tree payouts to find my store sales in between every line. This means I have no daily/weekly picture of how my sale are going, it means I cannot do what I've done for 3 years to send a thank u IM to everyone who has bought yesterday. IN all it is a total mess.

This entire system is an example of how you SL can totally IGNORE the interests of players and introduce some stupid system based on the web which makes no sense and cause me inconvenience in every way. I now have NO picture of my businesses, lose the personal touch with customers, ruined my rental control, and causes me to LEAVE game and go onto the internet during my game time to MESS about with spreadsheets and limited ways to see what was PERFECTLY good simple information.

I do not want to leave the world and sit on the web I want to be IN WORLD immersive not having to download and then work on business spreadsheet on the internet. Since this change I am forced to spend HOURS and HOURS outside SL to get a grasp of what took 2 minutes before in world.

How is everyone else managing now.??. are there any player made systems ( for those using NON vendor selling) which can keep track of all the money I receive and tell me IN GAME where my income is coming from? I no longer even know what’s selling and what’s not. I suppose this means that non vendor non web selling is virtually a recipe for not being able to have any stats now. A simple change to elminate money tree payouts form the transactions list would make a huge difference as these are the main things that block the 500 download list in my case.

since i only make between $10-$50L a day, I don't need any accounting help. :D

mine's more because 'now i can make stuff' and not because i 'need $L'. but more $L is never a bad thing, i suppose. *wink*

Personally, I don't have a problem with the new system. What I think your main problem is that money tree. Transfer ownership of that money tree to an alt, that will remove all those transactions from your list. Near as I can tell, most sane people have ditched their money trees anyway due to rampant abuse.

Otherwise, the web interface does still tell you your credits and debits and downloading all transactions at the end of the month (excepting $0L transactions) is a handy way to keep track of things over the long term.
I don't run a rental system, but there have been notes here in the forums of systems that will organize and track that business for you.

And I don't understand how one can miss who paid into what now... It's actually more complex, sure, but it's all there. Source is the person who started the transaction and desc is the object name. I'll probably find it more useful if I go for a rental, because it's got a region now, which tells me what region the transaction came from, of course.

Frankly, I'd have loved this more if they had brought it in world instead of opening a browser, but hey, I'll settle for better grid stability and performance first.

No need to copy and paste, just click the download link and it will download the information in the Excel format. Select the dates you want for the beginning and end of the file and you can easily keep track of all your transactions for whatever period you desire.

c+p lets you have them all in one file.

Briefly - I manage using a spreadsheet and manual accounting. If the "business" ever grew into a size that justified it, I would get a suitable accounting package.

I hardly ever used the inworld accounting info, but when I did I liked the layout and how it showed the info

now wonder if they could do that in the website, or... maybe I could set up something in ms office to do it for me and just input the info from the spreadsheet...

hmmm something to think about IF I start getting sales again

Managing ok, but *only* because the web transaction page is keeping up to date.
