Bent Knees -- Spongy Feet

Every once in awhile, I teleport to my skybox and arrive with my legs all bent at the knee and my feet sinking into the floor all the way up to my ankles.

I haven't found a sure-fire workaround for this. Mostly I TP from one place to another until the Mushy Feet aren't mush anymore. Not sure if it's the TP that fixes it, or if that's just a coincidence.

Any tips? I don't mind usually, but when I'm planning on a photo shoot, this is really really annoying since I usually want feet in the photo.

Standing on a posing stand fixes me. Maybe sitting down on something would too? It's cheap and worth a try!

To solve the problem of feet sinking in a skybox, first sit on something up there, then when you stand back up all will be normal.

Sitting on anything in the area usually fixes it for me too.

Thanks everyone. I tried walking, jumping up and own, Edit Appearance, flying around, teleporting.

Sitting never occurred me.

beebo: "Great, thanks for the advice! Fortunately, my planned photo shoot was seated. Another question though, now how do I move?"

it seems to be related to "ruthing" of the agent. Your "too tall avatar" is scrunching down to fit into the hip-height of "Ruth"

I guess most people wouldn't notice as they'd be hitting the poseballs as soon as they TP to the skybox.

If you know this so well, I may assume you are very experienced in this way of acting.

But rest assured, not everyone is like that.

I have this problem of bent knees and sinky ground when I TP to some sky structures. One way round this is to TP to the ground in the same sim as the sky structure and then back to the sky. In my experience that always fixes the problem.

It's easier to just sit...

And sit I did. Works like a charm.

My chair have poseballs for the sit anims. Most of them do, though I'm a fan of "no-balls" building with the help of Lex Neva's position script.

What were you thinking? Wash your brain with soap and water!

I'll try sitting next time instead of the 2 stage TP I usually do. Thanks!

I've run in to this problem quite frequently at my gallery/lounge, which is around 700m up, and the suggestion about sitting is the easiest and best solution, I find.

What I would like to know is why this happens so often, and if there's any way to get around it? It seems to happen only if someone teleports in at that height - if someone arrives at my parcel from ground level and uses the scripted teleporters, they are just fine.

As to the 'Ruth hip height' hypothesis, I agree that it may have something to do with some sort of default... but my av is (and has always been) a good deal shorter than Ruth, yet still experiences this bug.
