Tier monthly pricing glitch?

I have a premium account with an extra 1024sqm of land tier, so my total land ownership is 1536sqm... I am assuming my monthly cost (above my premium yearly payment) should be $8/month. Correct?

BUT, for some reason, in my account I see the following...

Allowed holdings: 2,560 square meters
Current holdings: 1536 square meters
Available for purchase: 1,024 square meters
Peak square meter usage: 1,856 square meters
Total monthly cost: US$15.00
Next bill date: Monday, February 26, 2007

What is going on? 2560 tier allowed?? I didn't request this! Anybody else have this glitch?

The peak holdings suggests that you've had more land than the 1536 during the month - in this case, 1,856sqm.

Well, that would be the glitch then. I got my 512sqm firstland, then purchased an extra 1024sqm. I never owned an extra 320sqm of land at any point. So, I guess I need to contact support about this before they bill me.

Doesn't matter if you go 1 sq m over the 1536 allowed for only a few minutes, you'll still get bumped up to the next tier level. Sucks...

I'm sure billing will get right on it :) jk

I don't remember ever attempting to even purchase an extra 320sqm, let alone actually owning that for even a second. Confused.

Did you donate tier to a group?

Billing has been glitching ever since January, unless someone can come up with a good reason for this (I cancelled the Premium on my alt in November, this started showing up in January):

From: someone
Account Summary

Your current plan: Basic Membership
Upgrade to Premium today!

Land Holdings

Allowed holdings: 0 square meters
Upgrade to Premium to own land!

Current holdings: 0 square meters
Available for purchase: 0 square meters
Peak square meter usage: 512 square meters
Total monthly cost: US$5.00
Sending an IM to billing received a reply that referred to the different tier levels. I guess basics can't own land, but can be billed for phantom land just fine .

No.

I haven't done anything that I can recall that should have changed my peak land stat above 1536.

Anyway, I have sent a support email to billing and I hope they get to it before the 26th. It's only $7 more, but still, it is the principle of the thing. They can't go around charging customers for services not requested and not received. If they bill me the $15, I will hound support until they give me my $7 back. Ha.

Of course, some might say that's exactly what they do... not me of course :)

If it's only 4 days I would really suggest calling them relentlessly for the next few days because it seems unlikely anyone would read the e-mail within 4 days and you're likely to just get a canned copy/paste response back.

So, they didn't respond to my billing support tickets and they charged me $15 anyway. I sent them another ticket saying that I expect to be credited $7 on my next billing. If they do not, I will be sending them a bill in the letter mail. Every month that they do not pay, I will send them another bill, with interest charges.

Maybe if I wait a few years, with the compounding interest they could owe me big bucks. By that point, if they choose not to pay, I can always take legal action.. or give my story to the press. Anyway, I am documenting all correspondence. Hopefully it does not take support a few years to respond.

Yay! I got responses to all my support emails this morning! They acknowledged that there was indeed a glitch with the land calculation and credited me $7.

Being new and from reading all the doom and gloom about support in these forums I was expecting to never get an answer, but alas I did!

Maybe LL getting those extra people on support is helping!?

Glad to hear they got it sorted out for you! :-)

I've had two occasions to email support in the last month, and both were eventually resolved. I think it just requires a bit of patience on our part.
