As soon as I was logging in to start my event day at 12 noon. SL crashes - throwing us all to different welcome areas and now we wait for regions to re-start and folks to pull themselves back together after several re-logs. It is the same song and dance every Sunday for the last three months; limited functionality and inability to keep scheduled events going because of the unnecessary load on the asset server. And no concern from Linden Labs about their paying customers who bought into this 'business platform' concept that are loosing customers, funds and confidence in Second Life.

I see some folks walking around with a Group tag that reads "Fix SL now". Anyone know what this group is about and what they are doing to make Linden Lab see that they have to concern themselves with their paying customers?

It gets worse every day.

I'm a new, paying customer and SL is right now unusable. Whether I'm on mainland or in sandboxes, LAG is horrible. I haven't seen it that bad before.

Paying customers should get priority IMO. Otherwise, LL will likely lose paying customers, including me. It would be so simple: Old, non-paying customers cannot log in, while new people could still try out SL for free. That way LL won't lose new potential customers.

As long as you feel like complaining, I guess..

Just had one of my best weekends in SL in a long time.. Went to a wedding on a full sim, full of girls with mega-prim dresses & hair and poofers and scripts and all. It was perfect - not at all laggy. Even my mainland home was happier this weekend then most.

What Sindy said.

I didn't have any problems with lag, and I was busy today doing some intensive building. I crashed a few times, probably because I was doing some intensive texture work. But I didn't lose anything, so after reading a few more forum entries, I just logged right back in.

Guess I'm used to crashes at work, 'cause our network goes down all too often and our development servers are so slow they make SL look good.

And then you woke up.

Tee hee. Yeah, I did some sim-hopping on the mainland with a friend yesterday and it was really painful. After 3 attempted sims, where textures wouldn't load and we both kept rubberbanding, both of us just decided to go back to my place and hang out on the deck. Most of the lag issues I've been seeing have been on the mainland, but for the past week, one problem that's even been affecting my low-population, low-prim private island is chat lag.

You've got a room full of people trying to talk to each other, but for unknown reasons, the text they type sometimes doesn't appear on screen for 30 seconds or more. It causes conversations to appear out of order, and people constantly type "am I still here?" thinking they've crashed because they don't see their text.

I remember in a Linden blog post a few weeks ago something about 'network saturation.' Like LL's internal network was totally flooded, so even if your sim was running at top performance you would still be affected by the overburdened network... wondering if that's been the case with the chat lag, and perhaps other problems? If it is... perhaps limiting the number of concurrent users would help? Set up a queue like some MMOs have.

Or limit it to paying subscribers during peak times? I dunno.

That's been suggested many, many times. I don't think they're going to do it...
