List of Money Chairs?

Is there a list of all money chairs somewhere (the inworld search feature doesn't really do the trick)? Is there a list that includes information on rate, availability, etc.?

Doubtful. I'd not make such a list.

Not to be mean, but I, and quite a few others, just don't like the ideal of the moneychairs/dancepads. Giving new Residents L$ is good. MoneyTrees do that for the first 30 days of an avatar's life. This provides a time-limited means of help until a Resident ca get on thier feet, as well as inducing an exploration of SL as that Resident goes from tree to tree.

Moneychairs keep Residents in one place. This uses sim resources and if too many chairs are plaed in one area, it prevents Residents of the rest of the sim from entering (this doesn't happen often, but does occur).

For my standpoint, it's just not finacally sound to use moneychairs/dancepads. The time and energy involved is more than the return. Arguments abound on this, however. I'd much rather purchase my L$ than waste time (or electricity for those that "idle" in a chair while asleep or at work) just sitting there doing nothing.

It may sound cheep, but I put every coin I find irl (always pennies and such on the ground) into a jar and then use this to buy L$. It's not much, but at @250L$ to every 1$USD, you don't need much.

I know that isn't the answer you were looking for. I wish you the best in finding what you wish to make SL the best it can be for you. My hope is that my statement may help you either now, or later on.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

While some may not share Jessy's sentiments.. there is quite a bit of proof in some camping chairs. The sims staying there bump in popularity which is quite often cheaper than a front scroll page ad in the classifieds. Also, it's the owners discretion on how it works for them. I used them in my mall to attract people to my vendors, who would in turn pay more for spots that have higher visibility.

Arguments aside -

A list like this would be tough to maintain... the rates fluxuate often, especially depending on the LindeX. Some places have more chairs than others, then again, some places put them in, only for events. And as I see it right now, most places I loved are closing shop with or without chairs. Hardly profitable at all, if you can't make money to pay your tier cause SL is down so much and LL won't cut a break on all that downtime, that they had a hand in producing. Several popular designers are closing up shop for good now. It's kinda sad. :(

I don't want to get into a debate about the pros and cons of moneytrees,

To answer the original poster

There is a thread in the forums that some tree owners use to announce their new trees.
/108/f5/33319/1.html

If you worked backwards through that thread you'd have the most recently announced trees.

Camping Chairs are *something* of a closely guarded secret. While on one hand, they're easy enough to find in a search, lists of the best chairs change frequently... as stated before, people are routinely pulling and adding chairs, changing rates, moving them around, etc.

But in these days of "simple unverified accounts" some less scrupuloius players have taken to creating alt-herds.. which they use to milk 5, 10, 30 camping chairs at a time. At 1-3 Lindens per 5-15 minutes, .. 10 alts can rack up more than spare change. AT least one camping spot I know of, has recently switched to a "group rate".. where if you're in the group, $3/10m, if not, $1/10m. That's the land owner's way of trying to keep the alt herders out.

The arguments of whether camping SHOULD be done, aside.. Chair lists are jealously guarded.. or should be. Every person you share you list with, will be competing for those same chairs with you. Share you list of the best chairs with 10 people.. now there's 10 more people who are likely to be taking up a chair when you want them. Of course the Alt herders are ruining camping for everyone now.. so there's less and less point to trying.

Personally, I think using ONE alt as a "designated camper" is reasonable.. if you have the resources or hardward to support two instances of SL.. but these guys who take over entire campsites with their alts.. waiting until the second a spot opens and TPing in their next alt and next alt.. that's taking greed to an unacceptable level in my opinion.

I personally avoid shopping in places with camping chairs. Why?

Firstly, if the shop needs them to up their traffic they are obviously not that good

Secondly, I once owned land in a sim with a big camping chair contingency - the result being I couldn't get to my little home because of people who were not actually doing anything using all the resources.

Yes, I know that was not the orginal thread question, but sorry, camping chairs suck :(

I use money chairs, or preferably dance pads, to top up my money because I feel that there are other benefits. Being on a dancepad gets one seen inworld and it also makes clubs more intersting to have folks doing things in them! Even if the rate is less than the amount of electricity consumed, to me it is 'playing the game' as I don't intend to import any RL money until I buy land.

not all of them have camping... however, a good chunk do...

less than 6 chairs at any location can be ok... but more than 6 and your asking for issues....

gold rush casinos for example is listed in the pop places 3 times, and its 95% camping... the owner of this casino is sucking the life from 4 sims and he owns less than 5k meters of land on any one of them, yet lindens feel what he is doing is ok... even after hundreds of abuse reports from dozens of residents of these sims complain about not being able to access there land because of regoin full issues or not being able to texturing some new build because time dialation is below .5 or texture time is above 500, or any other of the many annouying issues that have been reported.

seems Community Standards violations under the Disturbing the Peace section are overlooked and ok as long you purposely suck the life out of a sim for your own personal gain... ~> http://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php

anywho... there is nothign that can be done, as it seems the lindens simpley dont care how bad camping and afk/idling users suck the life from this game as they have more important things to do such as come up creative new bugs to add into the next release. :p

AS

blah blah blah.... if you need to camp for cash, then maybe its time you rethink the time you spend online. i am sure there are better things to do with you life. it cost more in power to leave your avatar camping for a few pennies than it would to shut it down and just depo a few bucks...
