Is it me or is this getting unworkable?

I pretty much accept that SL is unworkable at the weekends now. Ok, sure. But there are 37,000 people in-world right now on a Monday night, and Second Life hates me:

I can't walk, change, build, or rezz anything at all except three heads of hair stuck to my bum that I cannot shake loose.

Has LL ever made with the gates? What's the magic number of people in-world that *you* think should mean log-ins should close?

Yup, here we go again, working on a script, sitting here waiting for it to save, and I crash.

I stop attempting to work after 32k users. I stop because I dont want to risk anything disappearing when I try and rez it in world. Late at night or early mornings are the best workable times within SL.

I was under the impression we filtered off the non paying accounts so that those paying the big bucks had an unhindered, pleasurable experience under time of heavy load. Are you saying the system they have designed to do this doesnt work?

10 AM - 12 PM CET is usually a pretty good time ... that's 1 AM - 3 AM SL Time

Usually I wait with critical transactions (land sales, rezzing expensive objects) for that timeslot to arrive.

I was also havin probs like u guys friends list blank ims not working shoes stuck up my ass I logged out now everytime loggin says wait five minutes I wait loggin says wait another 5 I been doing for 30mins now

They won't use it. As far as I know, they only used it once.

Do scripted objects get affected too? None of mine work and I'm hoping this is the cause or I have a lot of expensive and now somewhat useless furniture...

It was soon after they said they would start using it. Someone reported here that they had tried to make a new account, and got the, "We're full, try making a new account later" message.

However, since they first talked about doing this, there was also something on the blog somewhere indicating that it was a very touch-and-go proposition. Apparently (if I'm remembering it right) it depends on certain Lindens happening to be around at the time, happening to notice inventory problems (I don't remember any other concern mentioned by LL except "when the risk of inventory loss exceeds the value" of not shutting the doors), and then making a decision to throttle things.

Apparently only a few Lindens can make that decision, and they kind of have to be around and notice a problem and decide there is a need - that's what I gathered, anyway. There seems to be no actual process or guidelines for doing the throttling, or anyone charged with paying particular attention to it, as far as I know.

I make a pretty good statue, but that's about it. My ao needs reset every time I tp, textures are acting up when building, friends list works sometimes, group IM's are a mess, etc.

And Sabrina is right, the number of actively logged in is growing and staying at an untendable level.

Reset the scripts.

well today i started out with both shoes and socks on by the time i finished doing what i was doing which included porting 3 times i found myself barefoot and no they weren't stuck to my butt.. (although they might be when I log back in an hour or so..0

i sympathize with anyone trying to work over the weekend its been hell no matter what time of the day - sunday morning i logged into a grey ruth filled world and that was at 1am game time - building is almost impossible, to fill a box to sell - i go make a coffee while the contents load - they might if im lucky and to pay a rental?? mmm maybe if i leave it over night the box might rez enough for me to click it.

I lost my earrings and a prim shoe when TPing..
lost and found gave them back the next day! Maybe in a sim somewhere is your shoes sitting empty and alone?
