I don't know, but I'm looking forward to all the new "Ive Been Ripped Off By A Landbot" threads we can derail.

Wow, if prices continue to drop and there is some nice land out there in the future, I might just fill up my teir again (too much owned still to teir down, not enough to fill it up). Actually good news...

Land costs will certainly go down. I just wish other issues such as building infrastructure to match the existing 'newish' continents could be paid attention to.

I'm also concerned that, with LL's apparent disregard for issues surrounding adfarms, all they are really setting themselves up for is another continent of predominantly ad-farm driven, zombie-esque sims.

they prolly need money for new programmers who can actually code (specially after looking at the .3 problems)

it will turn into normal mainland view within days as seen with the continent they added last
addfarms will grow faster then the amount of alts with open registration and half the grid is up for sale so there is no point

mainland = hell and will allways be hell no matter how many continents they add

btw, group IM`s are still fuckedup for the past 2 months or so by now FFS

Well that explains the unseasonably warm weather at my place.

Just to be fair, there are plenty of places on the mainland that are not filled with adfarms. Of course, like my home region, those are also the places where nobody ever sells their land. ;)

@Ava - to be fair, this is true also of the predominantly residential sim that I also have land in. *crosses fingers and hopes she hasn't jinxed it*

However, adfarms do appear to be a growing trend in most new areas - particularly ones that do not have as much appeal as some of the waterside or mountainside residential areas (not that they're specifically zoned as such). Specifically, i've noticed that inland, flat areas close to roads are particularly prone to adfarming because the shape of the parcels is just so irregular.

i know, but if u compare the amount of junkyard regions to the amount of neat regions, it`s safe to say the mainland is a junkyard :)

I recognize that there are exceptions, but I agree: Mainland is frequently just.... crap.

It will add land to the land market.

Oops... it will knock the Earth out its orbit and we will go hurtling into the Sun.

Oh, probably not that.

Yeah... I'm going to have to go with: It will add land to the land market.

I believe LL stated in a blog post (or comment?) that lack of age verification will not block you from regions rated Mature, but only from parcels with the "Mature Content" box checked. I think island owners can also mark their whole regions or estates as Mature Content, and you would be blocked by that too.

Is that the verification that was all set to go.....3 months ago?

Yeah, I was hoping they were letting it die a silent death, but I think it was mentioned again in a recent blog post (or maybe in someone's chat log from a Linden office hour?).

*sings*

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze,
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees,
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in.
