Well my friend in world has this problem, her chat is all bazook. When she talks its normal, but then all of a sudden her avitar is saying things she is not typeing. I was thinking it could be 2 things, some sort of hacker/griefer, or her chat program through secon life somehow got mixed up in someone else's. For you see she talks then her avitar talk, but it seems like someone else talking to someone else. lol, I know it sounds strange, can someone help?

I heard of someone getting attached to another avatar last night (and there were no poseballs involved). There is some weird wacky stuff going on...

I don't suppose the other type was green was it? Perhaps her Xcite parts started talking?

I'm hearing all kinds of strange chat behavior tales today. My advice would be to have your friend IM Live Help (on the help menu) and report the problem.

UNLESS, her chat text is coming up green. If that's the case, she's being griefed.

There is a script which practical jokers/griefers can use in chat to make it sound as if someone else is talking. I'm afraid I don't know how to combat it, but it sounds as if this could be the cause of your friend's problem.

I've seen this happen to a host at Tringo before. It is a griefer tool of some sort and it can make it look like the chat is coming from anyone... and do it with white text.

Not sure how you can find out where its coming from though.

Nope plain white as if she is saying it, she is not tho. Streagest thing, I will tell her ti IM live help / call them. Really weird.

True, But the text caused by this tool is of another colour than the standard Chat tone, It's Easy to identify when someone is using it.

just a wild guess but could it be an object scripted by someone to print in white some preset textlines? Might be interesting to see if they still get it when they are alone mebbe?

I can substantiate it. The Wyvernclyff Wand has a spell (imitatus) that will do it. I don't know if Wyvernclyff is still in business, but the wand is still around (I've got one).

And pardon the spelling of Wyvernclyff if it's wrong. I haven't had my coffee yet, and am loathe to go in world to check the spelling without having fired up my brain cells.

The Aubre Tec psiTec combat/defense system also has an imitate function that allows one to imitate any avatar within chat range, but the imitated text appears in green so it would be easy to spot.
